My name is John Boccacino, the Communications Specialist in Syracuse University's Office of Alumni Engagement. I'm also a 2003 graduate of the S.I. Well folks, today on the podcast, we are pleased to welcome out Patrick Garrigan who graduated in 2001 from VPA with a degree in musical theater. Now you hear that degree, what I'm going to tell you that he does, it's vastly different, but there's a lot of similarities to it. He's going to give us introductions into his career, how he made the transition. He currently serves as the Global Head of Bloomberg Live. He's worked for the Atlantic. He's worked for Politico. He's got a great communications- based career. And Patrick is our guest today on the podcast. Thank you so much for making the time. Patrick Garriga...: Thanks so much for having me. I'm delighted to be here. John Boccacino: It's always one of those meta kind of concepts when you bring a communicator on to a communicating platform like a podcast. But I thought this was a perfect fit to bring you on. And for those that are listening, Patrick is going to be part of a key panel discussion on November 18th for alumni. It's technically geared towards alumni in the DMV, the DC, Maryland, Virginia area, but anybody can sign up for this program about careers in communications and the communications sector.

  • Patti Murin, Josh Segarra and the Cast of Lysistrata Jones
BATTLE OF THE SEXES: (left to right) Patti Murin, Josh Segarra and the cast of Lysistrata Jones. Photo: Joan Marcus Theater Review Lysistrata Jones one of best musicals of 2011 LYSISTRATA JONES Book by Douglas Carter Beane Music & lyrics by Lewis Flinn Directed & choreographed by Dan Knechtges Walter Kerr Theatre 219 West 48th Street (212-239-6200), www.LysistrataJones.com By David NouNou It is no secret that the musicals that were offered this fall/winter season were from hunger. With the exception of a brilliant revival of Follies, which is unfortunately closing way too soon, the pickings have been mighty slim. From the abysmal revival of Godspell to the disastrous Bonnie & Clyde, there has been nothing as fresh, delightful and entertaining as Lysistrata Jones. Finally, a musical that can be enjoyed for the holiday season and beyond has arrived just in time. Based on Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, Douglas Carter Beane has updated the storyline and set it in a modern-day gymnasium where the Athens men’s basketful team has lost every game for over 30 years. Lysistrata Jones comes to the university and takes it upon herself to create a cheerleading squad to urge the boys on to victory. Upon losing the game, that is when Lyssie and the girls decide to withhold sex from the players until they will finally win a game. Thus begins the complication and the fun. Playwright Mr. Beane has written a delicious book for this musical, full of wit and genuine humor. (We at StageZine.com never reveal any of the funny quotes in a review because we feel it is a spoiler alert, and they are best enjoyed when hearing them fresh within the context of the show.).

Does every relationship have an expiration date? GENERAL OVERVIEW 1 SYNOPSIS DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT BIOS – TEAM BIOS – TALENT LOCATIONS SCENE SHOOTS 2 PMA. Entertainment Marketing & PR Sell By is a romantic comedy about a group of friends navigating love, life, and relationships as they reach the mid-point. At the heart of the story is Adam (Scott Evans), a talented painter now stuck ghost painting for successful contemporary artist, Ravella Brewer (Patricia Clarkson). He and Marklin (Augustus Prew) are at the five-year mark of their relationship. They don't have kids, they're not married, and are face to face with the existential question “Is that all there is?” Their friend circle is confronting the same question in a whole host of ways: Elizabeth (Kate Walsh), Adam’s best friend, is at the 15 year mark of her marriage, ready to bail when she discovers her husband’s inappropriate text relationship with a younger woman; friend Cammy (Michelle Buteau) is dating Henry (Colin Donnell), but they never leave the house; Haley (Zoe Chao) is trying to figure out if her feelings for Scott James (Christopher Gray) are maternal or something more. Everyone’s a bit of a mess, but at the same time eternally optimistic at finding new ways to make things work.
