Public transport along the Pennine Way If you don’t have time to walk the whole trail in one go, you may well be looking at ways of breaking it down into smaller chunks. We would recommend that you try and use public transport wherever possible, and so have compiled some hints and tips to help. Journey planning for all means of transport is possible using www.traveline.info (0871 200 22 33). Entering your start point, your destination and travel dates will give you all the available options using public transport. Details for each station can be found at www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations. Bus travel There are a number of other locations where you may wish to finish your walk that do not have train stations. Some of these have bus services to connect you with a train station. Some of these buses, especially those to smaller towns and villages do not operate every day of the week, and may run different schedules on different days or in different seasons.
