FOOD AND FAITH EXPLORING THE EARLY CHRISTIAN WORLD MAY 20-31, 2018 Dr. David Maltsberger May 24 Thur Rhodes - Ferry back to - Bodrum A typical Greek and Turksih breakfast is consisted of , chese varieties, bread, eggs, jams and honey. After breakfast, we will take bus to the Village to see the St. Paul Bay and walk up to the panoramic Greco-Roman ruins of the Istanbul village. Those who wish can ride donkeys up and/or down of the . Our lunch will be at a Seafood Restaurant with Greek , calamari, octopus, and mussels. We will drive back to Rhodes port to take the afternoon ferry back to Marmaris. Then, we will drive to Bodrum for diner and overnight. (B,D)

May 25 Fri Bodrum - Kos Island - Bodrum This morning we will board the ferry from Bodrum for a day-trip to the beautiful Greek island of Kos. We will visit the famous Asklepion where lived, trained and worked almost 2,500 years ago. This afternoon we will enjoy some of the local Greek favorites for lunch and then explore the charms of medieval Kos town and its Archaeology Museum before boarding our afternoon ferry back to Bodrum. Transfer back to our hotel in Bodrum for diner and overnight. (B,D)

Upon arrival, our Greek guide will meet us and we will start the walking tour of Rhodes city center, Old City, Castle, and the Archaeology Museum. We will have a quick simple lunch at a local restaurant having “borek” a fried tasty cheese pastry, and “”. Then, we will check-in to our hotel in Rhodes. Rest of the day is free.
