New staff members at the branch locations included Kyle Barr (Greenfield), Andrea Toews (Leesburg), and at Rocky Fork - Jennifer Lowe, Chelsi Snyder, Ginny Whiting, and Gayle Patrick. At Hillsboro, new staff members included Jessica Burrier, Kelli Cole, Zana Smith, Christina Rittenberry, Laura Bradley, as well as the new Library Director, Suzanne Roberts. Jennifer West retired after more than 21 years of exemplary service; a tree and an engraved stone were dedicated in Jennifer’s honor at the Hillsboro location. The annual circulation for 2019 was 344,382. This number includes the circulation of e-formats (e- books, digital or downloadable audio, and videos) which was 43,133. In January, we introduced the new HCDL logo and updated library website. Over the course of the year, our consortium provided the use of an upgraded app called the SEO Libraries App so that patrons may access their library accounts via their mobile phones and devices. Circulation Manager Sarah Davidson and Assistant Director Joanna Sullivan attended the SEO Users Group Meeting in May. Trainers from the consortium visited library management in July at Hillsboro and also worked with new employees at Rocky Fork in November.
