2010 Rock Baseball Media Guide • 7 25 Questions

The 2010 campaign will be Jeff Messer’s “silver anniversary” season as head baseball coach at Slippery Rock University. In recognition of that, SRU Sports Information Director Bob McComas sat down with Messer prior to the start of spring season and asked 25 questions designed to give fans a feel for what goes on beyond the scenes in The Rock Baseball program.

What does it mean to you to have the most wins among all active 1 Pennsylvania collegiate head baseball coaches? Jeff Messer: I’m proud that we’ve been able to win so many games. It’s a by- product of my being here for 24 seasons, but it’s also a tribute to the outstanding players we’ve had over the years and the consistency of our program. We’re winning 30-32 games a year and usually in the hunt every year for conference and regional honors. Coach Messer tutors former two-time All-PSAC-West shortstop Phil Butch
