ROCK & ROLL — GEOFF PHILLIPS Geoff has been teaching Rock & Roll at the rallies for several years now, and it’s proved to be a popular event each time. Rock & Roll is the most portable dance because wherever you go: a wedding, a ball, a party, there’ll usually be a Rock & Roll bracket. This is your chance to be a part of the fun. When you get back home, you’ll be able to teach your grandchildren! There’ll be daily lessons, in basic four-step Rock & Roll, starting from absolute scratch. If you’ve never danced a step, we’ll send you home dancing. Bring a partner if you can, but it’s not absolutely necessary. Shoes are best if they have just a little bit of slip. We’ll also do the Rock & Roll Waltz and whatever else takes our fancy at the time. Please note – since each of our lessons build on the one before, you will need to do EITHER lesson 1 OR 2, to progress to the subsequent lessons, OR already know the basic step. LINE DANCING — RAINEY PARSELL Rainey has been teaching our line dancing classes for many years now. These classes are also very popular. Most of the favourites are taught – Elvira, Boot Scootin’ Boogie, The Wanderer and so on. Start your day with fun and exercise. SOCIAL TEA DANCE This activity has been held for a few years now, and is popular with watchers as well as dancers. It is intended for those who already know how to dance. We’ll do most of the old favourites – Merrilyn, Swing Waltz, Barn Dance, Festival Glide, Alpha Waltz, Tangoette and more. There will also be modern brackets – Quickstep, Waltz, Jive, Rock and Roll etc. See the Daily Schedules starting on page 18 for all class and dance times.

So impressive was her rapid mastery of the yodel that it gained her instant notoriety, winning her the coveted Australian Yodelling Championship title in 2008. Having relocated with her young family to Tamworth in 2015, Johanna now spends time thrilling audiences Australia wide. In circles, Johanna Hemara is really starting to make her mark as an independent performer of note and, blessed with an amazing vocal range and a girl next door charm, Johanna impresses every time she walks onto the stage.

The Mawer and McCallum duo show is a highly engaging walk through the MAWER & MCCALLUM most popular covers over the decades, when it comes to entertainment they deliver! Between the final for best vocalist in the “Battle of the Bands” early inhis career, to vocals and guitars with Handle With Care, there have been too many gigs to mention for Billy Mawer. The early years were dominated by performing in dance and music, before the rock scene took over. As guitarist/vocalist in Tarquin, Billy enjoyed success with the chart hit “Summer Ladies” and “Joker”. Six years on the road with The Gangsters saw single and EP releases, before three years in England. A return to Oz saw a busy schedule with production shows Twist and Shout, Get Ready, and Daze Of Woodstock, through to the end of the noughties, including a gig doing backing vocals with Joe Walsh. All this has led to a repertoire of around 300 songs, many his own compositions. Jim McCallum has also had a long musical history. Folk, Jazz, Rock and Country are styles that suited Jim’s versatile voice and has seen him perform all over Australia in bands like Tarquin, Warren Daly Big Band and Shot to Pieces. Handy on rhythm guitar and harmonica, Jim is at home on stage in small intimate spaces or large arenas. His sense of humour comes out in his collaborative writing and he has co-written musical scores for two professional musicals: Vroom Vroom and Time Gentleman Please for Theatre South. He has also co written and recorded many Jingles for South Coast Tv and Radio throughout his career with Clictrac and Advertrax. Jim’s acting credits include leading roles in West Side Story, Tommy and Wonderful Wollongong.

THE BUDGEES Born in the country and nestled in rock & roll, the Budgees are a duo that play rock, ballads, country & blues classics from the 60’s through to some familiar modern sounds. They believe that they have added some interpretation on great hit songs that people can enjoy and dance along too, with familiar blasts from the past. Mike and Dave also play some original ballads penned by Mike, that were penned when he travelled around Australia 10 years ago. We’d love to make your time with us, a time to connect and remember.

The farm accesses irrigation water from on farm bores and river water allocation, when it rains. The property has a heavy interest in ecology, with riverbank regeneration and tree line establishment an important part of the business.
