The First Sunday of Lent February 21, 2021

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that Thou art present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love Thee above all things and I desire Thee in my soul. Since I cannot now receive Thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though Thou wert already there, I embrace Thee and unite myself wholly to Thee; permit not that I should ever be separated from Thee. Amen.

Community Outreach for February: GATE Pregnancy Center

We are happy to partner with our local crisis pregnancy center, GATE. They have been supporting mothers and fathers in need with counseling, supplies, education, and emotional support as their clients navigate their unplanned pregnancy.

This Lent, our Religious Education classes are supporting GATE as a part of the Lenten practice of almsgiving. We invite you to do the same. GATE has informed us that they are expanding their Concord offices and will be offering ultrasounds for their clients! Your financial support will help with updating their new space and covering the cost of purchasing the new medical equipment.

There are many ways to give:

1. We had 400 bottles passed out last spring, but less than 100 returned. If you still have a baby bottle from last spring, you can fill it with coins, bills, or checks, and you can return it to the parish office or the Narthex on Palm Sunday, March 28.

2. You may take a small envelope from the Narthex beginning the First Sunday of Lent on February 21, fill it with coins, cash, checks, or gift cards, and return it to the parish office or the Narthex on Palm Sunday, March 28.

3. You may donate directly online through their website: https://friendsofgate.org/donate

4. You may donate gift cards to Sam’s Club or Wal-Mart so they can continuously purchase supplies for their clients.

5. You may purchase an unused breast pump to donate to the facility.

THANK YOU for making a difference in these families’ lives! Any amount of support saves lives!
