Important Update

Last Thursday, our students and staff did a great job carrying out our Great California Earthquake Shakeout and Evacuation Drill! Great job on a very important drill!

Don’t forget to remind your students of our potlucks. On Monday: Mr. Chandler’s, Ms. Medrano’s and Mr. Mann’s classes will hold their potluck at 10:30 am in the Student Center. Morning and evening classes will host theirs on Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 am and 7 pm Please have the student sign up to bring food. The school will provide plates, plastic ware, and cups.

Checking For Understanding (CFU) is an effective and powerful teaching strategy that can ensure all your ​ students learn more deeply! So CFU often!

“The Challenge”: Remember: Readers are Learners, and Learners are Earners! Books are available in the ​ Office to loan. Please return books back to after you have finished reading it. Don’t forget to pick up a ticket from Jeri once you have read a book. The ticket you earn from reading a book will be placed in a raffle drawing for two $100 prizes!

Student or Staff Highlight

Mrs. Adela Anzaldo has been a teacher at MAS for the past 12 years. She has had a positive impact on the lives of many of our students and staff. Currently, she serves as the ESL Department Chair, and on other school committees, and teaches HiSet and ESL classes. She also plays an active role in the lives of many of her students. Along with her other duties, she is working on her Administrative Credential through the Bridges to Leadership Program. One day, she aspires to be an administrator at MAS! We are happy to have such a talented and caring person working at our school!

DID YOU KNOW?​ Rosie Vial (formally known as Rosie Echevarria) was a Montebello High School Cheerleader! Montebello High School is located in Orange County and is right next to Pico Rivera!
