When: Mon. – Fri. June 25 – Aug. 17 Lunch: 12:00 – 12:30pm Snack: 3:00 – 3:30pm (No program July 4th) Where: Mt. View Elementary Lydia Hawk Elementary Pleasant Glade Elementary Fee: Free! Playground Pals (6 – 12 yrs) Free! After lunch is served, Parks and Recreation staff will be at each of the three school sites offering open playground time with fun activities, arts and crafts, games, fitness, and even a summer reading program. This is a free, drop-in program. Participants may come and go at their leisure. However, parents/guardians will be required to COMPLETE an "Emergency Information" card. When: Mon. – Fri. June 25 – Aug. 17 Where: Mt. View Elementary 12:00 – 3:30pm Lydia Hawk Elementary (No program July 4th) Pleasant Glade Elementary Fee: Free! 4 Youth Day Camp (6 - 12 yrs) Summer Fun Tour Currently Registering! Children will experience exciting activities while building new friendships. Weekly activities include movies, swimming (twice per week), special guests, sports, games, arts and crafts, and a field trip based on each week’s theme. A summer reading program and on-site library is provided by Timberland Regional Library. Hot lunch and afternoon snack is included (except last week, Aug. 20-24). Campers must bring their own morning snack. Camper / staff ratio is 6 to 1 on site and 4 to 1 on field trips. You mustCOMPLETE camper information form(s) and submit two weeks of camp fees to reserve your space. Limit: 40 campers/week per site. This coed camp offers outdoor sports, games, and activities designed to develop your child’s confidence, ability, and character. Through sports, the campers learn important life-skills, including the value of being a good teammate and the fun of being physically active! New Abilities Awesome and Confidence! Memories! Student / staff ratio of 8:1 Week 6 6 Youth Specialty Camps LEGO Jr. Engineering II Day Camp (6 – 8 yrs) Working in pairs, students will build projects of slightly higher complexity using gears and motors from our unique LEGO kits. Learn basic engineering principles, gears and gear ratios, simple machines, forces in motion, problem solving and communication skills. A must for students who enjoyed Jr. Engineering I (though JEI is not required). When: Mon. – Thu. July 30 – Aug. 2 9:00am – 12:00pm Where: Woodland Creek WH Fee: $125 Collision Cars Day Camp (9 – 12 yrs) Crash! Bang! Cool! Learning has never been so fun! Using unique LEGO kits and working in pairs to build a variety of battling machines, your child will have hands-on exploration, problem solving, and risk-taking with a goal of learning and experimenting with how machines work and compete. They will learn a variety of concepts geared for their age throughout this class, including basic engineering principles, gearing and gear ratios, electric motors and energy, problem solving, and communication skills. Taught by the All About Learning staff. When: Mon. – Thu. July 30 – Aug. 2 1:00 – 4:00pm Where: Woodland Creek WH Fee: $125 Vehicle Engineering with LEGOS Day Camp (6 – 12 yrs) Let the good times ROLL! What’s more fun than LEGOs with wheels? Campers will work in pairs to build and modify a variety of vehicles, concept cars, and construction machines using unique LEGO kits. They will have fun while learning basic engineering principles, friction, forces, motion, aerodynamics, and more! Taught by All About Learning staff.
