However, results from two new Svalbard ice cores, at Lomonosovfonna and Austfonna, have shown that with careful site selection, high-resolution sampling and multiple chemical analyses it is possible to recover ice cores from which part of the annual signals are preserved, despite the considerable meltwater percolation. The new Svalbard ice cores are positioned in different parts of Svalbard and cover the past 800 years. In this paper we focus on the last 400 years. The d18O signals from the cores are qualitatively similar over most of the twentieth century, suggesting that they record the same atmospheric signal.

Regions are painted with the first digit. Call country codes or country dial codes are prefixes of phone numbers to reach telephone subscribers on the networks of member countries or regions of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The codes are defined by ITU-T in the E.123 and E.164 standards. Prefixes allow for an international direct set (IDD) and are also called international subscriber recruitment codes (ISD). Country codes are an integral part of the international phone number plan and are only required when dialing a phone number to set up a call to another country. Country codes are accessed to a national phone number. According to the convention, international phone numbers are represented by prefixing the country's code with a plus sign ( ), which also indicates to the subscriber that local international call prefix must be first dialed.
