The Exodus is the central event of the Old Testament as the Cross is of the New Testament. (Wilkerson) That is to say that the shed blood of the Passover Lamb clearly points to the shed blood of the Lamb of God Who Alone is able to take away your sins! Dear reader there is only one way to be saved from the eternal punishment of Hell and that is by believing that the precious blood of the Lamb of God was shed for you for the removal of your sin debt, past, present and future. By God's grace through faith in Jesus' sacrificial death in your place you will be saved and not by any works you do (Eph 2:8-9). How do you know you are saved? Watch your life - you "works" they don't save you but do demonstrate that your salvation is genuine. So ask yourself - do you think differently about God, the Bible, time and eternity, and can you tell this is true by how you speak, where you go, what you watch, etc. You will never be perfect on this earth but you must believe in a perfect Person and only Jesus was perfect.     2005 February Stonebriar Community Church, Part I The XP & Church Growth By Dr. David R. Fletcher In January 2004, Dr. Charles Swindoll, Senior Pastor of Stonebriar Community Church, announced his decision to David Chavanne, the church’s Senior Executive Pastor. The internationally known radio preacher, who likes to be called “Chuck,” had decided that Stonebriar would add a third worship service at 8:00 on Sunday morning. The decision culminated a two-year period of Stonebriar being at capacity and the church wondering if Chuck would add a third service. From the moment that Chavanne heard the decision, he knew that he had an enormous amount of work. ♦ As Executive Pastor, how could he prepare the staff and congregation? ♦ How could people be persuaded to come at 8:00 in the morning? ♦ What decisions need to be made and what steps need to be taken so that this third service will be successful and go smoothly for the entire church? Six years prior, the church had an extremely successful start-up, and now Chavanne wondered how Stonebriar Community Church could grow to the next level. History of an ‘Instant Megachurch’ News reports assert that the seeds of Stonebriar Community Church germinated in 1994. The Dallas Morning News reports that “When the Rev.     A Few Thoughts on Dallas, “The New Capital of Evangelicalism” by David Fletcher In Christianity Today, Associate Editor Edward Gilbreath presents a thesis which could serve as a cogent rationale for the selection of case-study churches. In the cover story Gilbreath writes on “The New Capital of Evangelicalism” and by means of an illustrative tale, he presents his thesis: ‘Reverend, I have been in cities all across the country, and in each church I have been told that this phone is a direct line to God, but everywhere else it costs $10,000 a minute. Your sign says 25 cents a call. Why?’ The pastor, smiling proudly, replies, ‘Well, my son, you’re in Dallas now. It’s a local call from here.’ What makes this tale more than just an amusing example of ‘Don’t Mess with Texas’ bravado is the nagging suspicion that, in Dallas, it could very well be true. Judging from the unusually large number of churches, seminaries, and parachurch organizations here, one gets the impression that God has some special arrangement with the city—the kind Disney has with Orlando, or that movie stars have with Beverly Hills. The ubiquity of Christian institutions is astounding. And these aren’t your average-size churches, seminaries, and parachurch organizations either. In the great Texas tradition, they are big—really big—in both membership and clout.1 This researcher was willing to investigate churches in various cities around the United States. However, travel was deemed unnecessary as comprehensive research could be conducted in the “capital of evangelicalism.” In the article, Gilbreath presents a wealth of data to substantiate his thesis.
