Meeting Police Scotland issues There were no police personnel able to attend the meeting. Alanna was currently on sick leave and no other officers were available. Parking on the Point main road. It was noted that two points on the main road were at risk from resident parking; one on the approach to a hill creating a blind summit, and the other on a hill at a bend, again creating a situation where traffic had to pass on the opposite carriageway on a downslope bend. Matt had sent an email to Alanna but had not had a reply at this time. Item continued. Matters arising from the Bus shelters minutes Angus had nothing to report at this time, and the item would be updated at the next meeting Eilean na Mairbh Alex John was not available and this item would be discussed at the next meeting Roads (see separate item in minutes) SSE resilience plans. We will invite an emergency planner or other relevant person to the next meeting to take this action forward.

    Lewis & Harris Auction Mart Stornoway - Isle of Lewis SALE REPORT WEDNESDAY 12th SEPTEMBER 2018 Lewis and Harris Auction Mart held its second sale of the 2018 season on Wednesday 12th September. The sale, held in conjunction with our partners at Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., saw the auction of 3541 store lambs and sheep of all categories. There was a very good show of quality lambs and prices stayed strong at the top of the market although the overall average lamb price was down £1.58 on the previous year. The top price achieved was £74 gross for crosses from 6 Glen Kyles, Harris. There was strong demand for quality gimmers, resulting in the record price of £125 being achieved, not once but twice for telex cross simmers, both from Point producers at 11A Portnaguran and 5 Shulishader. As well as the strong prices seen for gimmers, older ewes and feeding sheep also sold well with a top price of £102 achieved by telex ewes from 11A New Shawbost.     Minutes of Meeting of Point Community Council at PST offices, Knock, Isle of Lewis on Monday 9 September 2019 at 7.30 pm. Present. Matt Bruce (Chair), Chris T Mackenzie, Alex John Murray, Norman Macleod and Cllr Finlay Stewart Apologies. Angus Lamont, Agnes Munro, Donald Macritchie, Cllrs Alasdair Macleod and Norrie T Macdonald The meeting due to be held on 26 August but that had been inquorate and the date re- arranged. 1 Minutes of previous meeting. The minutes of the meeting of Monday 24 June 2019 were approved. 2 Matters arising from the minutes – taken as items listed below 3 Police issues. None. 4 Projects for following up Request for funding support – Sian Macdonald, Island Games. .It had been agreed at the previous meeting to donate £300 to WIIGA and that Norrie would ensure it helped Point based athletes. MB and Donald Macritchie to action Gunnera removal. Chris Humphries is doing work from Garrabost to Flesherin. Agreed to try and get works done in Lower Bayble. MB to check progress and any monies due. Playpark monies. Matching funds to be applied for from PST MB to progress Point Phone Book. Agnes is taking this task on and forms are being issued for return by the end of August. Community Challenge fund for printing costs at £1000 has been approved and paid out by CNES. Agnes to progress Litter clean up. A clean up had been done at Swordale beach by volunteers. An ongoing task. Bank account tidy up. The admin and social grant from the Comhairle for the year has been paid out; the spreadsheet we inherited from Ed Macgregor can be updated easily.
