The McNeese State Cowboys wrapped up their 2010-11 season in front of 5,035 fans in Burton Coli- seum in a first round game of the NIT. The Cowboys had won the regular season Southland Conference title and had earned a berth in the post season NIT. Preston David The Cowboys dropped the NIT game to Boston College but still finished the season at 21-12, the best record at the school since the 2001-02 campaign. McNeese also posted one of its best ever home records, winning its first 14 games and going 15-2 on the year. The Cowboys were 11-5 in league play. Patrick Richard, who will be back next season, led the Cowboys in scoring and was a first team all- conference and an all-district pick. He averaged 16.1 points per game and ranked second in rebounding with a 6.4 mark and in assists with a 2.5 average. P. J. Alawoya, the only player in the Southland Conference to average a double double for the entire year, led the Cowboys in rebounding with a 10.3 mark and also scored 10.2 points per game. P. J.
