"CHVS Commitment" (Bradford Imrie) provides an overview of the achievements of CHVS during a period of rapid growth and of considerable institutional change. More detail can be found in the section on selections from the "College Memorandum (Extracts) 1991-95." The three CHVS, "Annual Reports (Extracts)" also give an overview. Second, it provides commentary on developments in higher vocational education in Hong Kong during a period of unprecedented change anddevelopment in the provision of the /Esher Diploma (HD). Third, Commitment identifies anddiscusses a range of issues which will continue to be relevant and important for the futuredevelopment of the HD. Fourth, it has been distributed to all College staff for information and reference;there can be value in reflecting on experience.Finally, it represents my own commitment and serviceas the Foundation Principal of the College of lIgher Vocational Studies (1991-95). My 'Principal's Diary' is included because of the particular significanceof the first week in January, 1993. The paper entitled `Commitment' providesan overview of the achievements of the College during a period of rapid growth and of considerable institutional change.More detail can be found in the section on selections from the 'College Memorandum' whichtotalled 89 pages over the thirteen issues. The three extracts for the College, from the CPHK AnnualReports, also give an overview albeit restricted due to context. What do submissions achieve?Difficult to judge but I hope that theyare worth the effort. Submissions are, of course, part of theprocess called consultation - to be noted but not necessarily accepted! Submissions certainly reprwent considerable time and commitment;they are included to provide insights into various issues which have been addressed since1991. 1 hope that the College will continue to respond to invitations to make submissionson behalf of higher vocational education and the needs of students. Nme papers are included which addressa range of topics. Three of the papers represent my commitment to the International Vocational Education and Training Association(WETA), one to the World Association for Cooperative Education (WACE), andone each to the International Conferences on Assessing Quality in Mgher Education (AQHE)and on Improving University Teaching (IUT). As a result, CPHK hosted the Sixth AWE Conferencein July 1994, and CityU will host the 20th IUT Conference in July, 1995. The final section is the 1995 edition of College Information Leafletsissued annually for information to staff and used as a vital part of the College's marketing and public relationsstrategy. I hope that readers in Hong Kong, and elsewhere, will find thispublication both informative and interesting. As noted in the last twopapers, there is growing and overdue international awareness of the importance of higher vocational qualifications forsustaining growth in developed and developing economies alike. Commitment to Higher Vocational Educationhas been prepared as a contribution to that awareness.     WORLD SQUASH UPDATE Issue 83 November / December 2019 FOR ALL WSF REGIONAL & NATIONAL FEDERATIONS cc: WSF Regional Presidents, WSF Commission Members, Stakeholders, PSA members, SPINs, Media, Accredited Products and Companies CAPE TOWN HOSTS SUCCESSFUL AGM The World Squash Federation Annual General Meeting took place on 6 November in Cape Town, South Africa, hosted by Squash South Africa. The WSF Conference, which preceded the AGM, facilitated informal discussions and featured presentations to update the delegates on key initiatives - including the World Squash Officiating, a joint enterprise between the WSF and Professional Squash Association (PSA) to develop an online platform that will provide National Federations with the tools to develop refereeing in their country. The new initiative is scheduled to go live before the end of the year. Additionally James Sandwith, from BEBRAND, presented the findings of a strategic review commissioned by WSF, with the report now available for all member nations to appraise. The 49th Annual General Meeting, attended by representatives of 24 National Federations, saw delegates agree an amendment to the Articles of Association to reduce the risk of inappropriate leadership behavior and to ensure that delegates in attendance at an AGM have a formal connection with their National Federations. There were no changes to the standard Rules of Squash. However, the Rules of Squash 57 were updated, adding an extra ball rebound resilience at 33 degrees C that will help to ensure that the differential between blue and black balls - and their range of bounce - will be more uniform across the brands that are WSF-approved. The WSF Championship Regulations were updated with respect to player eligibility, the use of random draws and a new timeline and procedure for seeding juniors.

This publication reflects the views only of the author, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein Foreword ‘Level 5-The Missing Link’ is an intriguing title for this new publication of EURASHE for those not versed in the qualifications terminology. It rightly points to an existing lack in the National Qualifications Frameworks, at least in some countries in the European Higher Education Area (formerly ‘Bologna’). The implementation of the two- (later three) cycle structure also had to incorporate the level that is the link between secondary and higher education, and this for reasons explained below. It is a great merit of the two researchers, Magda Kirsch and Yves Beernaert, co-authors of the report, that they have taken up the challenge of mapping a sector of (higher) education in a variety of countries, which often have just this in common, that they are among the 47 that signed the Bologna Declaration, but otherwise have such different education systems and structures that make comparisons of levels and programmes extremely difficult.
