Additional international collaboration include work in Liberia, Vietnam, India, and Ghana. At the present position, he works as the head of the Division of Infectious Diseases Preparedness in Denmark which includes public health reference laboratories as well as surveillance and control activities. Particular areas of interest are control of infections, vaccines as well as the emerging problems of zoonotic infections and antibiotic resistant bacteria transferred from food animals to humans.
