This report summarises the efforts made by the time being by the regional RMC in Sofia, Stara Zagora, Varna and Rousse. 1. Focal points in South Central Bulgaria The regional RMC for South Central Bulgaria is cituated in Stara Zagora at the Trakia University – DIITT. The RMC staff made significant efforts since its establishment to make it well known and used in South Central Region. For achieving this, were established contacts with governmental institutions, business and research institutions and organizations, universities, colleges and other high school organizations in the region. At the beginning, the project team’s members prepared a special letter with information about the new regional Research Mobility Centre, its main objectives, functions and services. This letter in electronic variant was sent to all representatives of the research organizations in South Central region – universities (“Paisij Hilendarski – Plovdiv and Trakia University – to all faculties), all higher institutes in Plovdiv, research institutes and colleges. A special emphasis was put on the communication to researchers’ associations, e.g. the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria – Stara Zagora Branch and Scientific and the Technical Union in Bulgaria – Stara Zagora Branch. Close relations were established with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Stara Zagora Branch and the Association of Medical Students in Stara Zagora. During the preparation of the regional seminar within the ‘Researchers in Europe’ 2005 Initiative contacts were also made with the regional business organizations, secondary schools and vocational colleges.
