Stay up to date on email, Facebook and Twitter E: thurrock.gov.uk/email /thurrockcouncil @thurrockcouncil Increased funding for social care, the environment and to tackle anti-social behaviour Thanks to our innovative investment strategy and prudential financial management we are able to do something 97 per cent of other councils in the country cannot and that is introduce a below inflation increase in general Council Tax. Every single penny of the modest increase in our Council Tax will be used to tackle anti-social behaviour and fund further improvements in social care and the environment.

We are also applying a small increase in the adult social care precept with every penny going directly to help support our most vulnerable older residents.

Whilst many councils are cutting services, we have invested in continued improvements including £1m towards new police officers, £670,000 to tackle anti-social behaviour, £500,000 for mental health support in local schools and £1.2m for environmental improvements.

Despite this continuing investment still has the lowest Council Tax rate in .
