Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus Concert Season

“Joyful Traditions” and “Cruzin’: Haight-Ashbury to Woodstock”

Palm Springs, CA- November 30, 2017... The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus (PSGMC) continues to “Build a Chorus Like No Other” after recruiting over 20 new members from its recent auditions. The PSGMC is delighted to announce its 2017-18 season of shows that will appeal to a wide spectrum of audiences. Season tickets are now available at www.PSGMC.com and are strongly suggested as it ensures the best seats, it’s the most economical and the shows are expected to sell out. PSGMC’s shows will be performed at the chorus’ exciting new home at the Annenberg Theatre at the Palm Springs Art Museum. The theatre went through a renovation several years ago with state-of-the-art sound and lighting.

“PSGMC is continuing to take giant strides forward with now over 100 singers in the chorus, performing two exciting shows, while continuing our outreach into the communities of the Coachella Valley. We are a chorus like no other. We are a supportive and caring family,” remarked Douglas Wilson, Artistic Director, PSGMC.

The music of Joyful Traditions will be a festive collection featuring all that is glorious with family and friends during the holidays. Imagine the melodic notes of Silent Night and the warmth of Grandma’s fruitcake while rejoicing with The Hallelujah Chorus. From O’ Come All Ye Faithful and aluminum Christmas trees to Hanukkah and holiday sweaters. This assemblage of Joyful Traditions will celebrate all the splendor and humorous holiday customs we share with our loved ones.

The show highlights all the magic and excitement of the Summer of Love along with the intensity and life-changing experience of Woodstock. This period of time created milestones in the musical path of the 60’s and 70’s. New genres of music were created by the artistry of such mavericks as Simon and Garfunkel, Diana Ross and , , Righteous Brothers, Mamas and Papas, Martha and the Vandellas, Everly Brothers, The Association and . Entertainment TV programs and ’s American Band Stand made these performers household names. Hitch a ride on the Love Bus as we take a journey down memory lane.
