As a result of the explosion, 6 civilians were wounded. e enumerators of the Information Management Unit (IMU) of the Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU) documented in the period between 19-25 Feb 2021; 14 violations of the truce in Regime Idleb governorate and adjacent countrysides of Aleppo; Lattakia and Hama governorates. On 24 February 2021, a car bomb exploded near the Cultural Center in Afrin. e explosion wounded 3 civilians. On 25 February 2021, PKK forces bombed Afrin city with 3 missiles, targeting Ibn Al-Nafees Hospital, Deirsim Hospital, and Mazout Street; e rockets caused great material damage. On 20 February 2021 in the northern countryside of Aleppo, a displaced child with disability died in the city of A’zaz as a result of his house being burned. ere were 6 incidents of IDP tents burning as a result of the misuse of the cooking stove or heater, or as a result of a short circuit; 3 of these res took place in the camps of Idleb governorate and 3 others in the camps of Aleppo governorate. In the eastern countryside of Idleb, on 22 February 2021, Russia and the regime claimed to open a crossing in the city of Saraqab to allow IDPs to return to their homes. Russia and the regime claimed that 60% of the population of cities and towns that they controlled during their recent military campaign had returned to their homes, but all Key informants conrmed that none of the IDPs would return to their homes. e civilians weren’t waiting for the regime to open these crossings to return as they ed their homes in fear of the regime that bombed their properties, looted their possessions, exhumed the graves, and mutilated the bodies of the dead. On 21 February 2021 Schools in the eastern countryside ٣ of Deir-ez-Zor began a general strike until the teachers ’demands are fully met by the so-called SDF forces; among the most important demands of teachers is to abolish compulsory recruitment and protect teachers from the violations of SDF elements; teachers salaries should be calculated based on the value of US dollar aer the great collapse in the Syrian pound against the US dollar where teachers receive their salaries in Syrian pounds. In a related context, SDF arrested ٢ hundreds of teachers for forcible recruitment; Some teachers were arrested while they were working in their schools. Teachers believe SDF confronts teachers ’rejection of teaching SDF curriculum through forcible recruitment and arrest of teachers who reject to teach their curriculum. On 22 February 2021; a missile of war remnants exploded in Al Bagouz town, killing 1 child. On 25 February 2021; SDF Raided Shiheil River Crossing and conscated two tanks lled with ١ crude oil, which were intended to cross to the regime-controlled areas on the second bank of the Euphrat.On 20 February 2021, in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakeh, the so-called SDF forces kidnapped a 13-year-old girl for forced recruitment. On 21 February 2021 10 French women in SDF camps went on a hunger strike; the strike came aer the continuous refusal of the French authorities to organize their return with their children to their country. On 22 February ٠ SDF kidnapped a 13-year-old girl from Al-Hasakeh for forced recruitment. On 24 February 2021, the International Coalition sent a military convoy loaded with weapons and logistical equipment from Iraq to Syria via Al-Walid ;2021 border crossing. On 25 February 2021; a displaced woman was shot and killed in Hole camp in the h sector with the assailant remaining unidentied, and a car bomb exploded in a market in Ras El Ein city, killing 4 civilians, including 1 child, and wounding 6 civilians. All teachers in Shaddadah city declared a general strike due to the 5-month-delay in delivering their salaries. SDF arrested 52 civilians in one day in Al-Hasakeh governorate for forced recruitment; among those arrested were 4 children under the age of 18, and 11 teachers..On 21 February 2021, in the northern countryside of Ar-Raqqa, the people of Ar-Raqqa city demonstrated at Al-Naim roundabout to demand accountability for the killers of a girl who was killed by her kidnappers in Al Diriyah neighborhood in Ar-Raqqa city. e citizens found the body of the kidnapped girl last ursday, that is 3 days aer her kidnap. e kidnappers asked for a large ransom for the release of the girl; but the family was unable to secure the amount of money during the short period specied by the kidnappers who killed the girl, put her in a small bag, and threw her somewhere in the city. e residents of the city of Ar-Raqqa held the so-called SDF forces accountable for failing to nd the child before she was killed by her kidnappers; ey also held SDF accountable for insecurity within the city; Parents are reluctant to send their children to schools or to parks to play. On 22 February 2021; Russian forces withdrew a number of their vehicles and soldiers from Al-Orouba School in the eastern neighborhood of Ein Issa city. e retreating Russian forces headed to Tal Al Samen military base south of the M4 highway.     WEEKLY CONFLICT SUMMARY | 9 - 15 SEPTEMBER 2019 WHOLE OF SYRIA SUMMARY • NORTHWEST | The Government of Syria (GoS) did not gain more territory in the Hayyat Tahrir ash Sham (HTS) dominated enclave this week. However, aerial activity resumed after a 10 day pause. GoS shelling also increased this week. Inside the de-escalation zone, HTS cracked down on dissent. In the Turkish occupied areas of northern Aleppo Governorate, opposition armed groups continued arrests for extortion purposes. • SOUTH & CENTRAL | Attacks against GoS-aligned personnel and former opposition members continued in southern Syria. In the Qudsaya neighbourhood of Damascus, GoS conducted the third arrest operation of the year. GoS also announced the end of an anti-ISIS operation in Homs. • NORTHEAST | Another joint US/Turkish patrol took place in Tal Abiad this week. Low-level attacks against the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued despite SDF security operations in the region.
