Page 10 Head Coach Tim Walsh The Tim Walsh File Eleventh Year • UC Riverside ‘77 Birthdate: December 17, 1954 57-59 at Cal Poly (11th Season) • 174-141 Overall (29th Season) Birthplace: San Francisco, CA Tim Walsh, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the College: B.A., UC Riverside (1977) United States Military Academy for two seasons, was named Cal Poly’s 16th head football coach on Jan. 9, 2009, and, after guiding the Family: Jody Walsh (wife) Mustangs to a 4-7 mark in his first campaign, turned it around with three and children Luke (38), Casey (36), consecutive winning seasons, a Great West Conference title in 2011 Sean (32) and Megan (24) and, in his fourth year at the helm of the Mustangs, a share of the Big Hometown: San Mateo, CA Sky Conference crown and a second-round NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoff berth in 2012. Fullback Jake Winningest Coach in School History Romanelli became the first Mustang in five years and the 14th overall to surpass the 1,000-yard One NCAC Championship (1991) mark in rushing yards, finishing with 1,015 yards. Two-Time NCAC Coach of the Year The 2012 playoff squad was led by FCS All-Americans Deonte Williams and Kennith Jackson. Williams is Cal Poly’s No. 2 rusher all-time for a single season with 1,506 yards, scored 12 touch- Sonoma State University, 1987-88 downs, was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award and was selected to play in the Casino Del Sol Offensive Coordinator (QBs) All-Star Game. Jackson finished second in tackles for the fourth straight year with 97 stops and also 23 School Records Set on Offense intercepted a pair of passes.
