    YOUTH BASEBALL RULES & REGULATIONS HOUSE PROGRAM Tee-Ball 1: Maverick, Stallion & Mustang: Ages 4-5 (Pre-school): Ages 9-12 (Grades 3-6): Plays during the spring of the year prior to entry into Age groups are combined and players are drafted by kindergarten. Kids hit the ball off of a tee, no catcher, ability based on a player evaluation. Teams are mixed and a dad occupies 1st base. Everyone plays the field, up with players from multiple schools.     Roy Hobbs Baseball Playing Rules Official Rules of Baseball plus RH addendums Roy Hobbs Note I: Roy Hobbs Baseball (RHBB) uses the Official Rules of Baseball as its base, with the following adaptations. The adaptations are for use at the annual Roy Hobbs World Series and any Roy Hobbs- sanctioned event where the promoter chooses to use them. These rules have been distributed to members of the Roy Hobbs Umpires Association. Note II: These rules adaptations apply directly to Open, Veterans, Masters, Legends & Classics age divisions, with further adaptations for Vintage, Timeless, Forever Young and Family ties divisions, which are listed separately as needed. Note III: The Roy Hobbs’ rules amplifications, exceptions and adaptations, updated as of June 1, 2017, supersede any other written copy of Roy Hobbs Rules.     Welcome to the 2018-2021 edition of the Softball Australia Playing Rules Case Book. These cases will cover most rules and situations where the playing rules alone do not explain every situation that may occur in a game. Through game situations, the case book will explain situational outcomes and further explain the interpretation of the playing rules, along with reasoning where required, rather than make the actual rule book more difficult and cumbersome. The Official Rules of Softball were adopted by the World Baseball and Softball Congress - WBSC softball division at the 2017 Rules Congress and endorsed by Softball Australia for the 2018 and following seasons, the Case Plays contained in this document relate to those rules. Wherever "he" or "him", or their related pronouns, may appear in this casebook, either as words, or as parts of words, they have been used for literary purposes and are meant in their generic sense (i.e., to include all humankind of any gender). This document should be read in conjunction with the Softball Australia Playing Rules 2018- 2021.     RBBA Coaches Handbook The handbook is a reference of suggestions which provides: - Rule changes from year to year - What to emphasize that season broken into: Base Running, Batting, Catching, Fielding and Pitching By focusing on these areas coaches can build on skills from year to year. 1 Instructional – 1st and 2nd grade Batting - Timing Base Running - Listen to your coaches Catching - “Trust the equipment” - Catch the ball, throw it back Fielding - Always use two hands Pitching – fielding the position - Where to safely stand in relation to pitching machine 2 Rookies – 3rd grade Rule Changes - Pitching machine is replaced with live, player pitching - Pitch count has been added to innings count for pitcher usage (Spring 2017) o Pitch counters will be provided o See “Pitch Limits & Required Rest Periods” at end of Handbook - Maximum pitches per pitcher is 50 or 2 innings per day – whichever comes first – and 4 innings per week o Catching affects pitching. Major League Baseball (MLB) is a league of different teams in different cities all across the United States, and those locations strongly influence the market of the team and thus the payroll. Year after year, a certain amount of teams, including the usual ones in big markets, choose to spend a great amount on payroll in hopes of improving their team and its player value output, but at times the statistics produced by these teams may not match the difference in payroll with other teams.

LOUIS AMATEUR BASEBALL ASSOCIATION PLAYING RULES 1.00 ENTRY FEE 1.01 Entry fees, covering association-operating costs, will be paid by each participating team during the year and shall be the responsibility of the head of the organization. Costs should be determined no later than the January regular meeting. 1.02 A deposit of $250.00 will be made at the January meeting by the first team in each organization. Additional teams in an organization will make deposits of $100.00. 1.03 Full payment of all fees shall be due no later than the May regular meeting with the exception of the 14 and 13 & under teams that shall be paid in March. 1.04 Entry fees shall include: affiliation fees, insurance, game balls, trophies, banquet reservations, awards, and any other fee determined by the Executive Board. 1.05 Umpire fees are not part of the entry fee; each team is required to pay one umpire directly on the field prior to the commencement of the game. Umpires are to be paid the exact contracted fee, no more and no less. 2.00 ELIGIBLE PLAYERS, TERRITORIES & RECRUITING 2.01 Eligible Players Each organization can draw players who attend any public or private high school in the immediate St. Louis metropolitan area or adjoining counties (the player’s legal residence is the address recorded at the school the player attends as of March 31 of the current year). While programs do not have exclusive rights to players from “base schools,” the spirit of this rule is that the majority of an organization’s players should be recruited from within a reasonable distance to the home field of that organization.
