Biking and hiking trips are up and running in earnest, and the summer picnic is only six weeks away. 5~ Hiking 5~ Trail Work Though it’s just June, it is not too early to think about RECRUITING NEW BOARD MEMBERS for the new year. 6~ CMC Happenings The RMOTHG follows CMC’s 10/1-9/30 calendar year, and new members will be elected at the annual meeting in 7~ Fun Photos September. There are nine members, and they serve three-year terms: each year, then, three members’ terms are up, though they may continue on to a second one if they choose.

If you or someone you know has an interest in the organization as a whole, email or talk to me or any BOD member about what being on the board entails. We meet six times a year. Our principal tasks are to manage the budget, facilitate communication among members, and keep a general eye on how things are going in RMOTHG activities.

All the best in this beautiful season, Cynthia

For two years we’ve have had the good offices of Jane Vanderkolk as the RMOTHG’s social activities HELP WANTED! coordinator. Jane works with a committee of four to Social Activities plan and carry out a variety of activities, which are open to all members. Several of them—the summer Coordinator forpicnic, 2015 annual meeting, and holiday party especially—require a considerable amount of thought and organization.

It’s not too early to begin looking for her replacement for 2015. Jane would like to pass the baton to another member then and is willing to assist her or him in learning this essential volunteer position.

Please consider talking to or emailing Jane, [email protected] or her committee members---Diana Bliss, Joy Cron, Ida Sansoucy and Carol Shansby---about what the job entails. The coordinator and her committee members’ work add immeasurably to the RMOTHG experience of building a community of folks with like interests. There have been suggestions that the Other-Day-Hikes RMOTHG Trail Crew be revived. Other-Day-Hikes tended to be more challenging, on a day other than Wednesday, and were June 16 coordinated separately from the Wednesday hikes. Although we have included C hikes to make up for the Let’s give back to the trails we love! absence, another reason for a revival is that not everyone can block out Wednesdays. Is there interest?
