I. GOD HANDS JOSHUA A DAUNTING TASK 1:1-5

A. What Joshua had working against him:

• He had no parents (v.1).

• He was following a legend (v.2).

• The Jordan river is impassable in the spring (v.2).

• The Promised Land was already occupied (vv.3-5).

• No guarantee the people would follow (1:16, 17)

THE BIG IDEA

Overwhelming circumstances are opportunities in disguise.
