Since the release of Leviathan in 2012, The Sensory Ethnography Lab (SEL) has been the talk of the documentary world. An experimental laboratory at Harvard University directed by anthropologist- filmmaker Lucien Castaing-Taylor, SEL seek to promote innovative combinations of aesthetics and ethnography, and over the past few years SEL have produced some of the most groundbreaking works in documentary film, includingSweetgrass (2009), Foreign Parts (2010) and Peoples Park (2012).
