Entertainment: Gina Carano Signs on to Join Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool Entertainment: Gina Carano Signs On To Join Ryan Reynolds In Deadpool Author : Robert D. Cobb If the casting department at Fox set out to find an actress who would not only raise pulses, but also provide a physically formidable presence - they hit pay-dirt. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has signed actress and former MMA champion, Gina Carano, to join the cast of Deadpool to play the role of Angel Dust. It's not yet known how exactly the character of Angel Dust figures into the storyline, since the actual plot has not been disclosed. However, in the Marvel Comics universe, Angel Dust is a young woman with the ability to increase her adrenaline level, giving her superhuman strength for a short duration. She's affiliated with a group of mutants living beneath the streets of Chicago, who are referred to as the Morlocks. Aside from Ryan Reynolds in the lead as Deadpool, Carano joins a cast that includes Ed Skrein and T.J.Miller. Both Skrein and Miller's roles are still a mystery, but it seems likely that Miller's character will provide comic relief and Skrein's will possibly be as a villainous character. Tim Miller will be directing his first live action film, when he steps behind the camera to helm Deadpool. Miller is one of the founders of Blur Studios, who were responsible for the Deadpool test footage that was leaked on the internet on July 28th of 2014. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are attached to write the script, where they will hopefully give the "Merc with a Mouth" plenty of opportunities to "break the fourth wall". The writing duo have previously collaborated on many projects including Zombieland and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and are also currently working on the script for Zombieland 2. More news about the production should start coming to light very soon, especially since production on the film begins next month in Vancouver. With a release date of February 12th of 2016 looming a mere 364 days away, this is a production that absolutely must come off without a hitch. 1 / 1 Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org).

Congratulations Juice!! 'Deadpool' Director Tim Miller and Songwriter Chip Taylor on the Film's Soft-Rock Center- piece, 'Angel in the Morning' (http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/6882938/behind-deadpool-soundtrack-tim-miller-chiptaylor-juice-newton-angel-in-the-morning) “There'll be no strings to bind your hands / Not if my love can't bind your heart.” That’s the first thing you hear over the Marvel logo in the No. 1 movie in the country, Deadpool. As '80s pop country singer Juice Newton sings about an illicit love affair she just can’t shake in her 1981 hit “Angel of the Morning,” Ryan Reynolds’ f-bomb blasting anti-hero gets busy kicking ass. It makes zero sense on the surface, and yet director Tim Miller says that the song was the only track con- sidered to open the superhero flick that grossed another $55 million over the weekend to easily hold on to the No.

CG GARAGE PODCAST #258 | TIM MILLER DIRECTOR, “TERMINATOR: DARK FATE” “Terminator: Dark Fate,” “Love, Death & Robots” and “Deadpool” director, Tim Miller, returns to CG Garage to offer a human perspective on the Hollywood machine. Much has changed in the three years since director Tim Miller recorded the 100th episode of the CG Garage podcast. After the runaway success of Deadpool, he returned to the big screen with Terminator: Dark Fate. At the same time, his Heavy Metal-inspired anthology series Love, Death & Robots busted boundaries via Netflix. Contents Useful links Linda, Arnie and the cast Tim Miller on IMDb > Deadpool, Logan & Joker Blur Studio > The Love, Death & Robots effect Love, Death & Robots on Netflix > Working with David Fincher Love, Death & Robots at Chaos Group > 1 Chris Nichols: All right Tim. Like I said, I just got a Facebook reminder today that it's been three years since we last recorded a conversation, probably seeing you. Tim Miller: It seems like only yesterday. Chris Nichols: It was fun though, right? Tim Miller: Yeah, it was at the Gnomon School, so we had a little bit of an audience in, and Joe. It's always great doing it with other people because you're not ... Not that this is not awesome at this moment, but you people to bounce off of and it's a little bit more of a tennis match at times, which is interesting. Chris Nichols: Right. Right. Right. There's a lot of things that have happened in those three years. Two big things that have happened since then.

  • A Movie Review
A Movie Review: Release: February 2016 Rating: 15 Director: Tim Miller Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Brianna Hildebrand, TJ Miller, Stefan Kapicic Plot: After developing multiple inoperable tumours, Wade Wilson undertakes an experiment to cure him. After suffering drastic side effects, he sets out to seek revenge on the man who ruined his life. Development hell. That unsavoury purgatory from which most films never escape. After more than 10 years in development, involving multiple rewrites, recastings and even a PG-13 version, Deadpool finally escapes, thanks to some "leaked" test footage which saw Fox greenlight the picture within 24 hours. And it's been a long time coming. Right from the spectacular opening credits (which will surely go down as some of the best ever made) it's clear that director Tim Miller and star Ryan Reynolds have got Deadpool's spirit spot on. Reynolds is an absolute joy to watch; he's clearly having a much better time here than in 2009's disastrous X-Men: Origins (which he has since stated he felt "blackmailed" into doing). The Merc With a Mouth is exactly that; there are in-jokes, pop culture references and fourth-wall breaks abound (even an Inception-esque fourth- wall break within a fourth-wall break). Little escapes unmentioned, Deadpool opting to take the mickey out of just about everything that springs to mind, including Reynolds' turn as Green Lantern, Reynolds himself, Hugh Jackman, and there's even a cheeky reference to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In terms of character, Deadpool is perfect. The film doesn't fall short in its story aspect either; instead of opting for a standard "the world is in immediate danger and only the hero can stop it" story, Miller rolls with more of an action-romance, and it's much better for it.

Deadpool (2016) [108m] D: Tim Miller C: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Karan Soni, Michael Benyaer, Voice of Stefan Kapicic. Snarky mercenary (Reynolds) is afflicted with terminal cancer and, in hopes for finding a cure, donates himself to mad scientists of which consequently results in a regenerative mutation rendering him nearly indestructible…but with a face only a mother could love. Demented, deformed, and nowhere to turn, obviously he becomes a superhero/vigilante to extract revenge on those responsible. Based off the irreverent and inhumane Marvel Comics character created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Leifeld; Reynolds pulls out all of the stops with pomp and vigor. Certainly not for the squeamish, but a fresh and hilarious break from the archetypal superhero mold. Reynolds also co-produced. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri (2017) [115m] D: Martin McDonagh. C: Francis McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, Lucas Hedges, Clarke Peters, Abbie Cornish, Peter Dinklage, John Hawkes. Embittered mother of unresolved rape and murder victim opts to take justice into her own hands by calling out local law enforcement using three billboards located outside her small southern town. This valiant course of action sends ripples throughout the community triggering a deluge of support and resentment. Confrontational and evocative slice of Americana ultimately secured by McDormand’s no frills disposition. McDonagh, who also scripted, manages to conjure an intricate and empathetic character study with no easy answers. Filmed mostly in Asheville and Sylva, North Carolina. Terrific Carter Burwell score. Oscar winner for Best Actress (McDormand) and Supporting Actor (Rockwell).
