(INDIA) Website: http://www.iipsindia.org PREFACE The "Acquisition List" consists of selected bibliographical entries added to the IIPS library during January – December 2017. In the last few years, population, family welfare, reproductive health activity has moved forward at such a rapid pace that the amount of information available on these subjects is enormous and ever increasing. Furthermore, while this information is available from manifold sources, there has been no single handbook providing a complete list of the sources of information on the subject throughout the world. The International Institute for Population Sciences (Deemed University) is playing leading role for the population science discipline in South East Asia-Pacific Region of the United Nations for conducting research and teaching. As a part of academic activity, the Institute maintains an excellent library. Wide range of information sources collects for the academicians of various levels by the library from various sources such as Indian and foreign academic institutions, Government reports including census publications, published books/journal by various reputed publishers, M.Phil. Dissertations, Ph.D. Theses and Project reports of the Institute etc. To maximise the utility of the resources the library brings out regularly bi-annual publication i.e. Jan- June & July-Dec., 'Library Acquisition List' since 1968. The list is selected additions of the library on bibliographic level for the duration of publication, period as stated in the title. It provides the information in two parts as given below : 1. Content : Subject headings on population studies and related area on the basis of DDC sequence (with minor modifications for in-depth classification and arranged by author in the subject). 2. Detail entries in bibliographic format in the sequence of the content in 2 parts I - Books and II- Census Publications. Census publications entries arrangement is fixed by i) Chronological order, ii) Alphabetical sequence of Indian states iii) Foreign census. Format Author : Title. Place of Publication.
