Energy savings, use of renewable energy sources and recycling are not just theory for us, but ongoing strategic investments and an everyday practice for our 2,600 employees, and are coupled with a specific methodology and measurable results. Since 1993, when Vodafone Greece began its operations, we have been systematically investing in cooling/heating and lighting energy saving programs, as well as photovoltaic systems to provide power to our base stations. Over the last three years, our energy program prevented the emission of 22,830 tons of carbon dioxide, a quantity that equals the annual energy consumption of approximately 4,000 Greek households. At the same time, we have been investing in recycling mobile phones, accessories, batteries and paper.
