[email protected] RESUMO – Este trabalho objetivou descrever, ilustrar e registrar a ocorrência de Closterium na comunidade perifítica do reservatório de Salto do Vau. As coletas do perifíton foram realizadas no período de verão e inverno, em 2002, nas regiões superior, intermediária e lacustre do reservatório. Os substratos coletados na região litorânea foram de vegetação aquática, sempre no estádio adulto. Foram registradas 23 espécies pertencentes ao gênero Closterium, com maior número para o período de verão (22) do que para o inverno (11). A maior riqueza de táxons foi registrada na região lacustre do reservatório no verão e na intermediária no inverno. As espécies melhor representadas foram: Closterium ehrenbergii Meneghini ex Ralfs var. immane Wolle, C. incurvum Brébisson var. incurvum e C. moniliferum (Bory) Ehrenberg ex Ralfs var. concavum Klebs. Palavras-chave: taxonomia, Closteriaceae, algas perifíticas, distribuição longitudinal. ABSTRACT – Genus Closterium (Closteriaceae) in periphytic community in Salto do Vau Reservoir, southern Brazil. The aim of this study was to describe, illustrate and to register the occurrence of Closterium in the periphytic community in Salto do Vau reservoir. The samples were collected in the summer and winter periods, during 2002. Samples were taken from natural substratum of the epiphyton type in the adult stadium. Substrata were collected in three regions from the littoral region (superior, intermediate, and lacustrine). In the results there were registered 23 species in the Closterium, with 22 registered in the summer and 11 in the winter period. -

III (February. 2020), PP 23-36 www.iosrjournals.org Diversity of Various Planktonic Species from Rearing Fish Ponds Rimsha Jamil, Dr.KhalidAbbas, Muhammad Sarfraz Ahmed Department of zoology,Wildlifeandfisheries Faculty of sciences University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Abstract: The present study entitled “Diversity of various planktonic species from rearing fish ponds” was done in the fish ponds of University of Agriculture Faisalabad. Water samples were taken with the help of planktonic net and observe under high and low powers of electron microscope. Brachionus plicatilis, Cyclops bicuspidatus, Paramecium, Calanoid, Closterium setaceum, Mesocyclops aspericornis, Keratella valga and Volvox found, belonging to zooplankton. Phytoplanktons were the Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and Pediastrem duplex. Cyanobacterial species was Microcystis. During the study, zooplankton was abundantly found rather than the phytoplankton. Plankton diversity increased or decreased with the physico-chemical parameters of pond, and its abundance also affected by the environmental conditions. In summer the plankton diversity decreases while during winter, it increases. This study was designed to investigate OMPs using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for efficient management of non-point source pollution in agricul- tural areas. A UAV was used to acquire image data, and the distribution and cover installation status of OMPs were identified through ortho-images; the volumes of OMP were calculated using digital surface model (DSM). UAV- and terrestrial laser scanning (TLS)-derived DSMs were compared for identifying the accuracy of calculated volumes. The average volume accuracy was 92.45%. From April to October, excluding July, the monthly average volumes of OMPs in the study site ranged from 64.89 m3 to 149.69 m3. Among the 28 OMPs investigated, 18 were located near streams or agricultural waterways. Establishing priority management areas among the OMP sites distributed in a basin is possible using spatial analysis, and it is expected that the application of UAV technology will contribute to the efficient management of OMPs and other non-point source pollutants. -

Geotechnical Issues and Preservation of Korean Heritage Sites Problèmes géotechniques et conservation des sites du patrimoine coréen Yeon-Soo Jang Department of Civil Engineering, Dongguk University, Korea, [email protected] ABSTRACT: From 1995 to 2016, Korea has 12 properties registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. They include Buddhist temples, royal palaces, castles and tombs, Gyeongju and Backjae historic areas as well as Jeju natural historic site. This study would reveal beauties and spirits of heritage structures of Korea by showing various figures and telling the background stories. The design of the foundations and walls of the historic palaces and castles would be discussed. Some recent works of geotechnical scholars for preserving the historic pagodas and the restoration work of ancient demolished bridge located at Wolseong in Gyeongju historic area are explained. Jeju island, a natural geological museum, which contains 368 parasitic cones and lava tubes formed by explosive eruptions of basaltic lava is introduced. However, taxonomic and floristic studies on algae in the Euphrates basin are still scarce. This study contributes new information to the knowledge of the Turkish freshwater algal flora. Phytoplankton samples were collected from the Tatar Dam Reservoir in the Euphrates Basin between January 2016 and December 2016. Two taxa were recorded for first time and 14 rare taxa for the freshwater algae of Turkey were identified in this study. The new records belong to the phylum Bacillariophyta, whereas taxa considered as rare belong to the phyla Chlorophyta, Cyanobacteria, Rhodophyta, Charophyta, Euglenophyta, and Bacillariophyta. The morphology and taxonomy of these taxa are briefly described in the paper and original light microscopy illustrations are provided.
