The student’s language competencies will be developed over an eight-week period. The programme encompasses advanced level competencies in speaking, listening, reading writing and pronunciation of English. All English course comprises 4 distinct modules that are delivered over the 8-week period. Each module has 5 hours per day contact time, over ten days. So, 50 hours per module provides a total of 200 hours contact time. The mode of delivery is face-to-face with a total contact of 260 hours for all modules in the programme. The programme is scheduled weekly for 5 days and for a maximum of 6 hours per day. Assessment Method Written Exams and Final Projects. Graduation For the award of Foundation, students must have attained a minimum of 60% mark in each module. Upon the successful completion and fulfilling all requirements to pass the modules in the programme, students will be awarded the Foundation Course in International Hotel and Tourism Management from HTMi (Singapore).Foundation Course graduates can continue on to the Diploma in International Hotel and Tourism Management. Diploma Course Outline The Diploma programme is designed for those high school leavers who want to obtain a Diploma in a subject related to the Hospitality industry and would study a range of subjects from English, to Marketing, Food and Beverages, IT, Front of House, Rooms Division and an Introduction to Research Methods. Modules 1. Academic and Business English 2. Food and Beverage Cost Control 3. Gastronomy Food Service 4. Introduction to Research Methods 5. IT in Hospitality and Tourism 6. Marketing for Tourism and Hospitality 7. Rooms Division Operations 8.
