Assessor's Summary of Significance: Established on a land grant in 1817, Woolmers Estate is significant for its history of property development using assigned convict labour. Convict labour was employed in exchange for food and clothing. The assignment system helped to develop the colonial infrastructure, reform convicts, assist settlers in establishing their estates, and in the case of Woolmers, develop the foundations of a successful pastoral property. The homestead assemblage of Woolmers provides evidence of the use of an assigned convict labour force in the extant convict workplaces such as the woolshed, blacksmith shop, stables, gardens and paddocks. The former chapel was built to assist convicts in their reformation. The layout and architecture of the estate demonstrate the strong distinction between master and servant and how that facilitated the assignment system. Woolmers retains an outstanding range of extant buildings that comprises houses, formal gardens, outbuildings, workshops, cottages, plants that along with numerous artefacts provide a rare record of the scale and range of operations of a substantial pastoral estate owned by wealthy colonial pastoralists. -

MATT KEAN, MP Minister for Energy and Environment Explanatory note The objects of this Regulation are as follows— (a) to provide for different levels of control of burning in local government areas, including for the Environment Protection Authority and local councils to approve burning in the open, (b) to update references to local government areas following the amalgamation of a number of areas. This Regulation is made under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, including section 323 (the general regulation-making power) and Schedule 2. Local Area Emergency Declared for Greater Sydney
Hi all, Please see the below email which was sent to all NSW providers and services this afternoon. Thank you. The Digital Communication Team, Early Childhood and Child Care. Local Area Emergency declared for Greater Sydney On 26 June the NSW Government implemented a stay at home direction for people in Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shell Harbour Local Government Areas (LGAs) in response to the evolving COVID-19 situation. Restrictions apply to regional and rural NSW. Details can be found on the NSW Government’s COVID- 19 response website. In response, we’ve declared a Local Area Emergency (LAE) for the period 26 June to 9 July 2021 for services located in the following LGAs in New South Wales: City of Sydney, Municipality of Woollahra, City of Randwick, Municipality of Waverley, Bayside Council, Blacktown City Council, Blue Mountains City Council, Municipality of Burwood, Camden Council, Central Coast Council, City of Campbelltown, City of Canada Bay, City of Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland City Council, City of Fairfield, George’s River Council, City of Hawkesbury, Hornsby Shire, Municipality of Hunter’s Hill, Inner West Council, Ku-ring-gai Council, Lane Cove Council, City of Liverpool, Mosman Council, North Sydney Council, Northern Beaches Council, City of Parramatta, City of Penrith, City of Ryde, Shellharbour City Council, Municipality of Strathfield, Sutherland Shire, The Hills Shire, City of Willoughby, and Wollongong City Council. Early childhood education and care services, including vacation care, can continue to operate across NSW. Under the stay at home rules, accessing child care is considered a reasonable excuse to leave home. -

Section 2 Issues This section summarises the current issues facing the South West Local Area and provides directions to inform the LAP. 2 38 South West Local Area - Issues Paper Section 2 Liveable The Community Plan vision for 'Liveable' is: . A city that is well planned, attractive and sustainable; a city that provides affordable, attractive and sustainable housing; a city with high quality community assets; a city that protects and promotes its history and identity. 2.1.1 Current Urban form Urban form refers to the way the local area looks and feels. It includes dwelling types and their age, building height, the concentration of dwellings in a given area (or ‘density’), and the public domain areas including footpaths, roads, parks and plazas. Urban form also refers to how these elements integrate with natural features of the local area such as topography, bushlands and the areas around the Georges River and its tributaries. The existing urban form in the three local area centres – Panania, Panania Top of the Hill and East Hills – and the neighbourhood areas is discussed below. The role of the centres in Bankstown City has been previously identified in Council’s Residential Development Strategy as follows: Panania - Small Village Centre – this centre captures land within 400m of Panania Station. Panania Top of the Hill – Neighbourhood Centre - this centre captures land within 150m of the middle of the mainstreet. East Hills - Neighbourhood Centre – this centres capture land within 150m of the East Hills Railway Station. This assessment looked at the existing urban structure of each study area, and the infrastructure and open space provision desirable to support the proposed growth for each centre. This is based on the Department of Planning's sustainability criteria. Centre Type Summary of Hierarchy Major Centre The Bankstown CBD will function as the Major Centre for the next 25 years. Other Centres There are 12 village centres, small village centres and (Town Centres, neighbourhood centres in the City of Bankstown.
