Pre-Register for Trips in the Box Office All Ticketed Tours Are Non-Refundable Page 1 Kings Point Bus Trips Vesta partners with Glory Tours, a third party vendor, for all of our coach trips! Glory Tours has been working with Vesta in offering day/overnight trips for 6 years as a part of the Kings Point coach trip operation. In the process of them absorbing all the coach trips, and after analyzing ex- tensive historical data and numerous variables while planning the upcoming bus book, Glory Tours is implementing the following new processes: For all restaurant ONLY tours, Glory Tours will no longer have a tour guide specialist onboard. The goal is to keep these trips affordable by eliminating the expense of a tour guide for these simple outings. Some tours will now have a 40 person signup minimum vs a 35 person signup minimum to also help bring down the cost. Please note: Glory Tours has high standards for the bus companies they partner with to ensure they provide the most reliable, safe and comfortable transporta- tion services. Sometimes that level of performance means slightly higher fees than residents are used to paying but we feel the new processes and higher minimum for some tours will off- set the slight increase in cost. For any trips at risk of being cancelled for not meeting the minimum sign up requirement, but are close, Glory Tours will survey each person on the signup sheet to see if participants are will- ing to pay approximately $2-$5 more per person, (depending on the exact sign up numbers, the tour location and the number of hours the bus is needed) to keep the trip from cancelling. This is necessary to cover the cost of the trip with less riders. In addition, Glory Tours will also utilize a smaller shuttle bus for trips when it is feasible, and when we have enough residents signed up to also help avoid cancellation of a trip. Rays Games-Glory Tours is moving designated seats to a less expensive section, but still allow- ing for some upgrades at an additional cost, if you choose to sit closer. This will also bring the cost down for the more expensive games that are not on Wednesdays (Ray vs. Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, etc.) One final note, it’s extremely important that you remove your name from the signup sheet if you are no longer able to go. Glory Tours relies heavily on the sign up numbers to determine if a trip has met the minimum requirement. Glory Tours understands circumstance arise, but if too many sign up and do not remove their names, it impacts those that have signed up. If you need to remove your name and you are not able to make it up to the clubhouse, you can also call the Transportation Department at 813-387 -3470 and they will be glad to assist you. We hope you are excited about the offerings in the Bus Book and look forward to seeing you all “on the upcoming fun-filled bus tours”!! • City Commission 01/29/21
LAKELAND CITY COMMISSION Agenda Study Session January 29, 2021 The Lakeland City Commission met for the Agenda Study Session via GoTo Meeting. The meeting was available for public viewing online and on local cable channels. Mayor Bill Mutz and Commissioners Bill Read, Chad McLeod, Stephanie Madden, Don Selvage, Sara McCarley, and Phillip Walker were present. City Manager Shawn Sherrouse, Assistant City Attorney Ramona Sirianni, Finance Director Mike Brossart and City Clerk Kelly Koos were present. Mayor Bill Mutz called the meeting to order at 8 a.m. The Commission began discussing the water permit issue. The DEP was attempting to impose a rule that would cap water permits at 2025 demand levels. The plan was to force alternative water supply projects. Lakeland was willing to some extent but they were much more expensive water sources. Water was a legislative priority. The DEP should be imposing the same restrictions to surrounding counties, not just Central Florida. Sarasota and Manatee had water all around them but did not want to pay the price to desalinate. Lakeland will have representatives present including their attorney Mr. Segundo. The Commission asked to be kept up to date on the matter. Mayor Bill Mutz raised the issue of start time for Commission meetings. He asked the Commission to consider to returning to 9 a.m. vs. 3 p.m. Commissioner Phillip Walker asked if there was any data on attendance. PRESENTATIONS • IT Enables Surflakeland Grants (Oscar Torres, Director of Information Technology) • Beautification Awards (Connie Haynes) PROCLAMATIONS • Black History Month – Commissioner Phillip Walker invited a couple of nurses to attend Monday and he wanted to make a few comments at that time.

CRANKING UP ‘THE AMP’ BY LISA WHITE UPGRADES, REBRANDING DESIGNED TO FURTHER HEIGHTEN PROFILE OF ST. AUGUSTINE AMPHITHEATRE AND PONTE VEDRA CONCERT HALL . Amphitheatre kicked o its main-stage concert season March 1 with a sold-out show by Alabama, guests at the Florida venue couldn’t help but notice the changes. The 4,000-seat facility had been expanded by 700 seats, and a new food truck area provided fresh local options beyond the traditional concession stands. “We sell out a lot of our shows quickly, so we knew the demand was Athere and the ability to bring in bigger acts,” said Gabe Pellicer, assistant director of the venue and the adjacent Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, about the new seats. “We knew we had a lot of momentum, so we went for it.” The changes coincide with a rebranding for what’s now being called The Amp St. Augustine, including new graphics and brand colors and a fresh tagline — “Big Acts, Small Venue” — that echoes Pellicer’s words. The rebranding eorts are among a continuing eort to create a nationally known venue in a small market. “We felt like we ran into a fork in the road,” Pellicer said. “Do we create more revenue, more shows or a better experience? We’re a government-run venue that doesn’t have to chase prots, so we decided to make it the best we possibly could.” Owned and operated by the cultural events division of St. Johns County, The Amp hosts over 40 concerts and multiple community events annually, including the Saturday Farmers Market, held year-round, and the Sing Out Loud Festival, Florida’s largest free live entertainment festival and benet, held every weekend in September.

It not only allows you to discover a new country with all its aspect but also to gain a more critical and comprehensive understanding of your own country and Europe in general. My Erasmus year in Istanbul provided me with the opportunity to explore the culture, the politics and the society of Turkey. Beside this, I was faced with many challenges and obstacles during my year abroad I had to overcome. These reached from integrating into the new culture and city to finding a flat and handling the complicated and extensive Turkish bureaucracy. All this positive and negative experiences completed my year in Turkey but also contributed to my personal development and understanding of our world. The following paper tries to provide a guide for future Erasmus students in Turkey. It tries to provide useful information how to minimize bureaucratic stress, unpleasant experiences (illness, misunderstandings, etc.) and, of course, to overcome the culture shock.
