Heinz Zemanek - Biographical data Heinz Zemanek was born in Vienna on 1 January 1920. He kept teaching at the TU Vienna for another 60 years, until 2007. Neben dem Aufarbeiten seiner bisherigen Haupttätigkeitsfelder beschäftigt sich Heinz Zemanek im Ruhestand vorwiegend mit der Geschichte und mit der Philosophie der Informationstechnik. Apart from work related to his own academic fields, Heinz Zemanek devotes most of his time to the history and philosophy of information technology. He has been involved in a number of museum projects. His current project is the 6th edition of his book Kalender und Chronologie. Bekanntes & Unbekanntes aus der Kalenderwissenschaft and he was co-editor of the volume The IFIP Golden Summary, which was published for the 50th IFIP anniversary in summer 2010.
