In order to assist you with your request, please note the following requirements for obtaining a Somali Passport. • A valid unexpired United States or Canadian passport, U.S. Permanent Residence/Green Card or Naturalization Certificate along with a second government issued ID such as a driver’s license or state ID. OR • Proof of legal presence or stay by providing valid immigration documents issued by the United States government. Once you have the required documents available, please contact the Embassy to schedule an appointment. Passport processing days and times are: • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM EST. When your appointment is confirmed, please bring your identification documents along with a money order or cashier’s check for the passport processing fee: • Adults: $300 USD per passport for pick up OR $330 USD per passport for delivery. • Child (under 15 years old): $95 per passport. Lost or Stolen Passport Requests • Valid passports can only be re-issued six months from the expiration date. • Lost or Stolen passport requests must be accompanied by a police report to be submitted with the application. • Lost or Stolen passports are subject to a three month investigation period before being considered for re-issuance. Once your application is processed and your money order is received, the Embassy will notify you when your passport is ready for pick up or delivery. Please note, all passports are processed in the Mogadishu office and take approximately three – five months. Important: The process and steps for a passport application at the Embassy does not guarantee the applicant the issuance of a passport from the Federal Republic of Somalia. Please find below requirements for applicants: Application material requirements: • A valid unexpired United States or Canadian passport, U.S. Permanent Residence/Green Card or Naturalization Certificate along with a second government issued ID such as a driver’s license or state ID. OR • Proof of legal presence or stay by providing valid immigration documents issued by the United States government. Money order or cashier’s check for the passport processing fee: • Adults: $380 USD per passport • Child (under 15 years old): $95 per passport. Below you will find information on applications that will NOT be accepted. • Nationals applying for Somali passports during offsite visits must be entirely new applicants. Your application will be processed if you have never held a Somali passport or if your previous Somali passport expired before or in 2018. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS. • Nationals with lost, stolen or incorrect data passports MUST make an appointment to apply at the Embassy in Washington, DC. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS. .
