meek mill's back to business full album download Meek Mill Remixes Drake’s ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle’ And Teases New Music On The Way. Meek Mill has been hard at work on his fifth album, which will be his first full-length effort since 2018’s Championship . From the looks of it, the album could arrive soon, but before it does, the Philly native showcased his talents in a confident new freestyle. Mill’s latest track finds him rapping over Drake and Rick Ross’ “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” a remix that also came with a music video. It finds Meek recording in the studio and shopping for jewelry while speaking about his turbulent past and determination to remain successful. Shortly after he released the song, Meek hopped on Twitter to chat with fans. After one user requested a mixtape from him, he responded, “Just RAP, no features, no singing n****s, Just Meek over a calm beat going crazy.” He added that more new music from him is coming, writing, “Ima give y’all one this summer after my album.” Another person responded with skepticism about the claim, but Meek seemed set on making it happen, saying, “We gon see!” He also teased a sequel to his 2014 track “Blue Notes,” which features Lil Uzi Vert “on some Philly sh*t and he rapping rapping!” Blue notes 2 got Uzi on it …. on some Philly shit and he rapping rapping! https://t.co/EOJmQ3zluH — Meek Mill (@MeekMill) May 1, 2021. Meek Mill surprised many last week when the long-rumored release of his latest project finally arrived. The latest volume in the Philadelphia rapper's Dreamchasers series of mixtapes, DC4 dropped this Friday on a wide swath of streaming services and digital download platforms. It features a number of guests from the hip-hop and R&B worlds including Tory Lanez, Nicki Minaj and Young Thug, among others. The decision to release DC4 as a commercial product as opposed to a mixtape freebie follows an increasingly popular retail strategy used by a variety of hip-hop artists including Drake. Starting in the summer of 2015, Mill engaged in a highly-publicized beef with the pop-rap superstar after calling him out on Twitter for allegedly using ghost writers for his lyrics. The rivalry quickly turned one-sided, with Drake's responding diss tracks "Charged Up" and "Back To Back" turning into Billboard Hot 100 hits, the latter even getting a Grammy nomination. Mill's perceived missteps tarnished his credibility, with the consensus being that he'd effectively lost to his rap game opponent. Given the fallout from the Drake beef, Mill needs DC4 to do more than just rally his core fans, but make a significant impact on its first Billboard chart frame. It marks his first full length release since the beef first began in the wake of Dreams Worth More Than Money , his sophomore album for Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group. The RIAA gold-certified album spent two consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200. Featuring Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj, its single "All Eyes On You" reached No. 21 on the Hot 100--his best showing on the singles charts ever--and went platinum. (Ironically, the other Dreams Worth More Than Money track to earn platinum certification was his Drake collaboration "R.I.C.O.") If DC4 underperforms, it could do even further damage to his image and career. With no physical release as of yet and none of its tracks previously released to radio, he'll have to rely on streaming performance and digital downloads of the commercial mixtape to stay afloat. To that end, DC4 appears to be off to a good start. Counting both explicit and clean version figures, the album's tracks have already accumulated some 6 million streams in its first three days on Spotify globally, with likely most of that coming from plays in the United States. The tape has held strong through the weekend on iTunes Top Albums, ranking at No. 2 there as of this writing. Still, DC4 faces stiff competition from other albums on the Billboard 200 this week, what with the release this past Friday of Kenny Chesney's Cosmic Hallelujah and the continuing strength of last week's chart-topper Joanne by Lady Gaga. On the rap front, Mill has to contend with new releases by Jeezy's Trap Or Die 3 . At a bare minimum, DC4 has to outperform the Atlanta veteran's latest, no small feat given that his last six albums have each sold over 100,000 units in their respective first weeks. Yet there's also Drake's seemingly ever-present Views to consider. Over the past six months, the album hasn't once dipped below the album charts' Top 5. Coming in behind an aging album from the perceived source of Mill's woes could prove downright embarrassing if not devastating for his future prospects. But if DC4 outsells Views this week, it presents a small victory on his road to career recovery. Meek Mill Tackles Drake & Rick Ross’s “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” Meek Mill‘s been keeping quiet lately, in part due to the backlash he receives any time he’s on social media. However, he’s been cooking up too, and hopefully, a new album is in stores this year. On Friday night, the rapper popped back out with a fiery new freestyle over Drake and Rick Ross ‘ “Lemon Pepper Freestyle.” It’s an excellent display of his penmanship as an MC but it also showcases some refinery in his flow and his delivery. His voice will flare up with flashbacks of his battle rap days before bringing it back down a notch as he reflects on survival, from the streets of Philadelphia to the corporate board rooms he frequents. Over the past few months, Meek’s been ramping up expectations for the follow-up to Championships . In the nearly three years since the album’s release, Meek has certainly been expanding his business ventures but he’s also done some incredibly impressive work with REFORM Alliance in pushing for probation and parole reform. Battle rhymes and mixtapes made Meek Mill a major figure on the Philadelphia streets before the rapper went overground with a starring role on the Maybach Music Group compilation Self-Made, Vol. 1 (2011). Amid continued mixtape output, Meek maintained his high commercial standing with Maybach, making his proper solo debut with Dreams and Nightmares (2012) and topping the Billboard 200 for the first time with the follow- up Dreams Worth More Than Money (2015). Third album Wins and Losses (2017) saw him branch out with probing and pointed wordplay regarding the school-to-prison pipeline, a matter that has greatly affected his life through an overturned prison sentence that preceded the release of Championships (2018). All four of Meek's proper LPs have peaked within the top three spots of the Billboard 200. Born Robert Rihmeek Williams in South Philadelphia, Meek Mill was raised on the north side of his hometown by his mother, who struggled to support him and his sister. He was into hip-hop at a young age, inspired by the likes of family musicians and local figures such as Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Chic Raw, and Vodka. Sharpening his skills as a battle rapper, he later joined with his friends to form the Bloodhoundz. The group released mixtapes during the latter half of the 2000s, while Meek issued solo works on the side, beginning in 2006 with The Real Me and its sequel. The output prompted offers from Warner Bros. and T.I.'s Atlantic-affiliated Grand Hustle. Meek signed with the latter in 2008, but was derailed by a prison term. Once free, he continued pushing mixtapes, and in 2011 was included in XXL magazine's annual Freshman Class feature. Meek never released a proper album for Grand Hustle. Instead, he moved to Rick Ross' Warner-distributed Maybach Music Group and debuted there on Self Made, Vol. 1. Two collaborations with Ross, "Tupac Back" and "Ima Boss," hit the Billboard rap chart. The latter earned Meek the first of several gold certifications from the RIAA. Maybach Music Group Presents Self Made, Vol. 2: The Untouchable EmpireIn October 2012, after he was heard on one of the versions of Wale's number 64 Hot 100 single "Bag of Money," taken from Self Made, Vol. 2, Meek finally released his debut album. Dreams and Nightmares entered the Billboard 200 at number two. Its biggest hit was "Amen" (featuring Drake), which peaked at number four on the rap chart. That month, he also launched his own label, Dream Chasers Records. Self Made, Vol. 3Between albums, Meek appeared on the third volume of Self Made, added to his mixtape and singles discographies, and contributed to a slew of tracks from the likes of Kid Ink, DJ Khaled, and Jazmine Sullivan. Album two, Dreams Worth More Than Money, entered the Billboard 200 chart at number one in June 2015. A pair of its singles hit the rap Top Ten and went platinum: "All Eyes on You," featuring Chris Brown and then-flame Nicki Minaj, and "R.I.C.O," assisted by Drake, with whom he'd engage in a highly publicized public beef later that summer. Following a period of house arrest, Meek released DC4, the fourth volume in his Dream Chasers mixtape series, in October 2016.
