The promenade meanders all along the water’s edge where people can walk, relax and experience the vast beauty of the seascape. It is paved with rough-cut, natural stones in patterns that keep changing all along. A distinct, central gallery of steps takes you lower down to the water’s edge, where there is space for get-togethers, art shows, music programmes and other such events. At strategic points, steps lead you further down to the sand and rock beds. A large, central garden with a wide expanse of lawns provides relief to the dense high-rises in the background. Our development meanders around it. Patches of grass, planned adjacent to the mangroves, extend the lush green expanse. Like the Bandra Bandstand development, a 1.3 km-long yellow wall, with rounded mosaic coping, demarcates the forecourt. The promenade is paved with parallel lines of red Agra stone at regular intervals, weaving an interesting pattern all along it. Technical Consultants Planning, Design and Construction including traffic analysis in to Metro Rail capacity of Executive Engineer. Lender Engineers Techno - Economic CIDCO had undertaken this study on consultancy basis for Feasibility and Social Nagpur Improvement Trust (N.I.T.) Nagpur. The study Cost Benefit Analysis of included conducting the following major aspects: Rail Commuter Services in Nagpur i. Data Collection: This involved conducting Traffic Surveys, WTP, HH surveys and analysis of travel characteristics. ii. Modeling: this stage involved developing a comprehensive traffic and transportation model of city of Nagpur and forecast traffic on MRTS. iii. Scenario Development: Based on geography, site constraints, future planned developments and its potential - 16 scenarios were considered for sensitivity analysis. iv. Social Cost Benefit and Financial Analysis: As a part of social diligence, the project Analysis in terms of social costs was also analysed and forecasted in addition to financial analysis. Social Cost Benefit and This study was undertaken at the behest of Thane Municipal Financial analysis of Corporation (T.M.C.) on consultancy basis. The costs and High Capacity Mass benefits accruing to the society were economically and Transit System financially analysed to establish the social viability of the (HCMTS) for Thane project. The objective was to arrive at a feasibility study with main emphasis on its traffic viability so as to emerge with a scenario for maximum ridership. The present traffic was studied, analysed and a comprehensive traffic model for MRTS traffic diversion based on PT Analysis was developed and used for forecast. The study was completed in three months and the report was submitted in October 1994 to Thane Municipal Corporation. Western Freeway Sea The island city of Mumbai has developed along two major Link Project mass transit corridors of Central & Western Railway. There are also four major arterial roads parallel to these rail corridors. These corridors together form the backbone of the transportation network of the Mumbai city connecting the CBD at southern tip of island to the residential areas in the northern suburbs. The Western Freeway Sea Link along the western coast of the city will provide a direct link from the airport to the CDB of the city. The project is to be implemented on BOT basis. My involvement in this project is in capacity of Executive Engineer. I was involved in the initial project development process including feasibility studies and alternate proposals. The main assignment in initial stages was to establish traffic viability of project and entailed developing a comprehensive traffic model for city to forecast diversion. Detailed and comprehensive Traffic and Transportation Feasibility studies were conducted in association with IIT, Mumbai. This report formed the basis of BOT proposal and Tender. The geotechnical investigations in the sea along the alignment were completed. I was involved in the initial project development process including Feasibility studies and alternate proposals. The Techno-Economic Feasibility Study covering social aspects, viability, toll sensitivity and including construction feasibility (stocking, methodology, logistics) in addition to technical and financial aspects was completed. Detailed and comprehensive Traffic and Transportation Feasibility studies were conducted in association with IIT, Mumbai. This report formed the basis of BOT proposal and Tender.
