KNOXX INDUSTRIES AXIOM ULTRA-LIGHT RIFLE STOCK Highland Sport Is Offering a New Innovative Hi-Tech Polymer Recoil-Reducing Stock for Bolt-Action Rifles
Test Report by Nick Harvey KNOXX INDUSTRIES AXIOM ULTRA-LIGHT RIFLE STOCK Highland Sport is offering a new innovative hi-tech polymer recoil-reducing stock for bolt-action rifles. The Axiom is a replacement for the traditional stock on the Howa 1500. BLACKHAWK! HAS WON a reputation for making high quality products for the U.S military and law enforcement agencies. These include military packs, ballistic vests, hydration systems, tactical holsters and special ops accessories among many other items. They also set out to woo hunters and shooters with a spin- off range of hunting packs, boots and other outdoor equipment. Best of all though, was the recoil reducing Knoxx CompStock which had a scientifically designed cam roller extension spring housed in the butt that compressed on firing so that the amount of felt recoil was substantially reduced. The reduction in recoil was claimed to be from 54 to 95 percent depending on the stock and the calibre. Blackhawk! also makes a SpecOps stock which is adjustable for length of pull and fitted with two recoil reducing systems; one in the pistol grip and one in the buttstock. Another Knoxx recoil solution was a traditional looking CompStock shotgun stock. The latest Knoxx recoil solution is the Axiom rifle stock, a Buck Rogerish-looking replacement for the traditional Howa 1500 stock. The durable, reinforced polymer forestock has aluminium pillar bedding and completely free-floated barrel. A rifle’s accuracy effectiveness or even its purpose isn’t dependent upon its looks, but just because a firearm has a black polymer stock with machinegun-style pistol grip doesn’t make it an assault weapon. -

It requires a lot of discipline and determination for several reasons. It also requires a certain level of persistence because when the challenges and criticisms surface, the reaction can pretty easily dissolve into "What's the point of working this hard as a volunteer just to have people complaining all the time?" You will be tempted to give up and quit. And therein lies the challenge of volunteering. When you care enough about something that you're willing to do it for free, and do it while being roundly criticized, you will be empowered in a way you might not otherwise experienced before. It takes a lot to give without really expecting ANYTHING in return, but once you do, it's a pretty unique and special feeling. We would encourage anyone to try it. Beginning next month RVOHA will have a new Board. This new Board will be well-positioned to build on the progress of the last two years in driving RVOHA back into firmer alignment with its charter of Protecting Oregon's Wildlife, Habitat and Hunting Heritage. -

Thames Valley Guns Armourers Report
Thames Valley Guns Armourers Report Introduction In late 2016 I decided to sell my .223 Mossberg MRP LC and replace it with another .223 calibre rifle. This was driven by the fact that I really liked the Canadian MDT HS3 chassis system and wanted a suitable rifle to fit it. The HS3 Chassis system is designed to accept the following rifles Remington 700, Remington 7, Howa 1500, Savage and the Tikka T3. The Howa and T3 were the only two rifles that interested me and after some research it was clear that both rifles were readily available in the UK. The Howa was available as a varmint, 1 in 9 twist, threaded muzzle, in blue but without a rail. However its greatest attraction was its price at a shade under £500 retail. The Tikka on the other hand was double that price and then some, was available as a super varmint, fitted with a rail, threaded, in stainless, 1 in 8 twist and had a superior stock. I have worked on a few Howa’s over the years, even owned one, they are good rifles, good quality, very good value for money and in recent years have been subject to various aftermarket kits. On then other hand the Tikka tends to be a hunting rifle, I have worked on the Tikka tactical when they first appeared but it never really appealed to me as the price was astronomical for what it was and whilst the Tikka is without doubt a quality rifle its hunting heritage meant that only few have crossed my work bench. -
