11 a.m. – Session III (Consolation Semifi nals, Finals - Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth- MARLIN GRAHN A Portland State Uni- versity institution, Marlin Grahn returns for his 22nd season at the helm of the Vikings’ program. Grahn’s impact on Viking athletics stretches back 36 years when he arrived on the Park Blocks as a stu- dent-athlete in 1969. over duties at 174-pounds, a spot usually held by senior Karras Kalivas. Both Vikings Recently, he has over- seen the Vikings’ return to NCAA Division I as a mem- ber of the Pac-10 confer- ence. Grahn was an outstanding wrestler for the Vikings for four years under legendary coaches Howard Westcott and Don Conway, compiling a record of 53 win and 13 Duryee. Schneider’s competition, Tony Rolen, used a takedown with :15 seconds left losses, with 26 pins from 1969 through 1973. Following his days as a student-athlete, Grahn served as an assistant coach for Don Conway (1973-76) and Len Kauffman (1977-84), before being promoted to head coach prior to the start of the 1984-85 season.
