KHURRAM DASTGIR KHAN to invite attention of the Minister for Science and Technology to a matter of urgent public importance regarding unrest in the Engineers’ community due to their service structure and delay in the election of Pakistan Engineering Council, causing grave concern amongst the public. MUHAMMAD RAZA HAYAT HIRAJ to move for leave to introduce a Bill further to amend the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan [The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2011]. DONYA AZIZ, MNA to move that the Bill to prohibit certain practices leading to exploitation and discrimination against womenfolk [The Prevention of Anti-Women Practices (Criminal Law Amendment) Bill, 2008], as reported by the Standing Committee, be taken into consideration at once. 16. DR. DONYA AZIZ, MNA to move that the Bill to prohibit certain practices leading to exploitation and discrimination against womenfolk [The Prevention of Anti-Women Practices (Criminal Law Amendment) Bill, 2008], be passed. CONSIDERATION OF AMENDMENT TO THE RULES OF PROCEDURE AND CONDUCT OF BUSINESS IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, 2007. 17. MS. NIGHAT PARVEEN MIR to move that the following amendment in the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007, as reported by the Standing Committee, be taken into consideration at once. AMENDMENT IN RULE 239.- In sub-rule (1) of rule 239 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007, the words “in consultation with the Minister concerned” occurring in the third and fourth lines shall be omitted. 18. MS. NIGHAT PARVEEN MIR, to move that the proposed amendment in the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007, be adopted. RESOLUTIONS 19. MS. NIGHAT PARVEEN MIR to move the following resolution: - “This House Strongly condemns the desecration of Holy Quran in Florida, U.S.A by an American Pastor, Terry Jones and also calls upon the United Nations to take instant notice of the incident and get exemplary punishment awarded to the said Pastor.” 20. MS. QUDSIA ARSHAD to move the following resolution: - “This House is of the opinion that the Government should take steps to bring down the prices of all types of cars being manufactured in the country particularly the small ones.” - 3 - 21. MIAN MARGHOOB AHMAD to move the following resolution: - “This House is of the opinion that the Government should take steps to stop India from building dames on Pakistani rivers.” 22. DR. NAHID SHAHID ALI to move the following resolution: - “This House is of the opinion that the Government should take steps to abolish the condition of “B, Form” in respect of issuance of National Identity Cards to waifs.” 23. MR. HUMAIR HAYAT KHAN ROKHRI to move the following resolution: - “This House is of the opinion that the Government should take steps to do away with load shedding of Gas in the country.” COMMENCED BUSINESS (MOTION) 24. Pakistan will be gearing up for its second consecutive democratic government transition later this month. Observant and political experts term the upcoming polls (on July 25, 2018) as one of the most toughest and tightly contested elections in Pakistan’s history. Based on our analysis, we believe that there will be a neck to neck contest between PML-N and PTI. However, there is 75% probability that the new coalition Govt. will be led by PTI along with independents and smaller parties. Since it will be a close contest, there is a 25% likelihood that PML-N forms a coalition Govt. with PPP and other parties and independents. In a poll of leading Corporates and Fund Managers, 77% believe PTI to lead the next govt. and were equally split between PML-N and PTI as to who will get the highest number of seats. In another poll of top political experts, 75% of respondents were of the view that PTI will form the next govt.
