The many changes that have come to our Islands have caused confusion and doubts in the minds of some of our people. They ar~ involved in many different kinds of work and activities which are very good, but as a re­ sult these involvements weaken the work of the Church in some parts. The fourth is an ability to be practical and incorporate change. There is nothing unique in the combination of the first three elements, which were major causes of change in many Pacific Islands societies. Yet virtually no other island experienced the same intensity of labour recruiting or had the strong link with Christian missions in Queensland. As we have seen, many early Malaitan Christians adopted their new spiritual beliefs while working on overseas plantations and attending denominational missions, the strongest links being with the QKM-SSEM and the Anglicans.     Select Bibliography on Solomon Islands, 2003–2017 Clive Moore School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry The University of Queensland August 2017 Select Bibliography on Solomon Islands, 2003–2017 Biography Clive Moore CSI, is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry at The University of Queensland, where previously he held the McCaughey Chair of History. He is a leading Pacific historian whose major publications have been on New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands, the Pacific labour reserve, Australia’s Pacific Island immigrants, federation, masculinity and sexuality. Inaugural President of the Australian Association for the Advancement of Pacific Studies (2006–10), in 2005 he was awarded a Cross of Solomon Islands, and between 2011 and 2017 he was a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities. In 2012, he was made Outstanding Alumni of the Year at James Cook University, and in 2015 he was awarded the John Douglas Kerr Medal of Distinction by The Royal Historical Society of Queensland and the Professional Historians Association (Queensland).     Ocean Governance: Our Sea of Islands A Sustainable Future for Small States: Pacific 2050 Overview A Sustainable Future for Small States: Pacific 2050 is part of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s regional strategic foresight programmes that examines whether current development strategies set a region on a path to achieve sustainable development by 2050. The publication follows a previous study on the Caribbean entitled Achieving a Resilient Future for Small States: Caribbean 2050, which was launched at the Commonwealth Global Biennial Conference on Small States in May 2016.
