Dussehra Celebration Diya Making Competition was conducted for cl I and II and Rangoli Making Competition was conducted for classes III to V on 04 October on occasion of Dussehra. 2. APS Primary Wing celebrated Dussehra Special Assembly on 4 Oct 2019 in which all the students and teachers burn their negativities which they wrote on a slip and took oath to be positive and good to everyone. 3. Security Drill. Mock Security Drill was conducted for making students aware about the security measures including security guards and QRT. It was conducted on 04th Oct 2019. 4. Kick Boxing’ Tournament2019. Our school team participated in District Sub Junior & Junior Boys and Girls ‘Kick Boxing’ Tournament2019 held on 5-6 Oct at Pavilion ground Dehradun. Out school team bagged 04 Gold, 02 Silver and 2 Bronze medal. 5. Reliance Athletic Meet. Our school team participated in Reliance Athletic Meet on 6-7 Oct 2019 at Maharana Pratap Sports College Dehradun. Our students bagged bronze & silver in different category. 6. Special Assembly. The special assembly was inaugurated by Principal, Vice principal APS Birpur. The main events of the assembly were as follows:- Prayer- school choir Maths pledge- Harshika Tyagi( class 9th B) Maths poem- Renee Azad( class – 7th B) Speech- Aman Gusain( class 10th C) Tips to make Maths easy( class 10th B) Address by Vice principal National anthem 7. Quiz Zone. In the second day of Maths week celebration, the quiz zone was conducted in the class. The activity encouraged students to stretch their knowledge horizons and look beyond what they are taught in the class. Maths quiz is an excellent way of finding how well the apprentices understand the concept and use them in real life. The quiz was conducted in 40 minutes where 4 teams were participated with full excitement and vitality . Total of four round were conducted on theme like generic questions, aptitude round, logical power to test students knowledge on the subject. The main objective of this activity was to enable the students of different age group to think out of box, promote team play, improving their knowledge and learning their counterparts, besides building competitive spirit among the students. 8. Maths Movie. On the third day of the weeklong fest, Maths movie based on life and contribution of Shri Bhaskarachayra was shown to the students. The main objective of displaying the movie was to make the students learn the various contribution of Shri Bhaskaracharya like law of gravitation before it was rediscovered by Newton, existence of infinity, discovery of differential calculus etc. 9. Maths Puzle. In the fourth and the last day of the Maths week, the Maths puzzle was given to the students to solve. The main objective of this activity was to boost learning of important Maths related skills. Students were engaged in puzzle to explore how to break the solution down into smaller steps and how to reason in favour of certain strategies over other. 10. Bhaskaracharya (Maths Week) Celebration (14 -18 OCT 2019) (a) Special Assembly was conducted by students which includes Maths pledge and speech on Shri Bhaskaracharya. (b) Various activities were being done in classes related to maths, which are as follows:- 14th October (Monday). Activity - Maths Quiz was conducted in cl based on Mental Ability(class 1 to 5) 15th October(Tuesday). Activity - Fun Games based on Maths (cl 1 and 2) Magic Maths (class 3,4 and 5) 16th October(Wednesday) Activity - Video was shown to students on Great Indian Mathematicians including Shri Bhaskaracharya (cl 1 to 5) 18th October(Friday) Activity - Students of class 1 and 2 have visited the fun learning area and class 3 to 5 have visited the maths lab. The week promoted awareness, appreciation and understanding of maths through a huge variety of events and activities.It was a great learning experience with fun for students.They participated in all the activities with great enthusiasm and were also aware about some of the famous Mathematicians. 11. Spic Macay. Manipur dance performance conducted by Spic Macay at APS Birpur Auditorium on 15 Oct 2019 attended by class 9th students. The following were the artists:- SinamBasu Singh- a dedicated, versatile and young exponent of Manipur dancer who hail from the state of Manipur. Today he accomplished by Sarungbam Anita Devi(dancer), Laxmi Sagolsem(dancer), R.K. Upendro Singh(drummer) and AnglakpamNamdeshwari Devi(singer). It was really a performance, children enjoyed very much and learnt various forms of Manipur art. 12. Global Hand washing Day Global Hand washing Day is a campaign to encourage people around the world to wash their hands with soap. It takes place on October 15 of each year. The campaign’s goal is to raise awareness of hand washing with soap as a key to prevent diseases. Dr. B.K. Sanjay and Dr. Gaurav Sanjay discussed all the eight steps of handwashing and its importance. 13. Kick-Boxing Championship Our School team participated in State Kick-Boxing Championship held at parade ground on 16 & 17 October 2019 where Anisha Khural of 11D and Hitesh of 8th secured 1st position in there category. 14. Special Assembly was conducted on 16 October 2019 on ‘World Food Day’ by Thimaya house. A speech on world food day was delivered by Saniddya Uniyal of class VI C and Priya of class VIII A.A poem was recited by Prachi Mahar of VII C.An appeal was also made for the ‘Food Donation Drive’. 15. Inter House Chess Competition was also conducted by Thimaya house. All the houses were represented by four students. One girl and one boy from middle wing and one girl and one boy from senior wing participated from each house. 16. Dry flower competition was held on 18 October2019. All the four houses were represented by six students. Two students each from class VI,VII and VIII participated in the competition. 17. Candle decoration competition was conducted by Thimaya house on 18 October2019. In this competition, senior wing students participated. Two students each from class IX, X,XI and XII participated from all the four houses. 18. On 19 Oct 2019 presentation on Result Analysis and Comparative study of PT 1 and Half Yearly Examinations was conducted. Teachers shared their best practices and remedial measures to improve their result. 19. CBSE Handball Competition 2019. Our school team participated in CBSE North Zone Handball (boys/girls)U-17 tournament from 18-20 October at Khurja Bulandshar,Alpine Public School. Our girl’s team secured 2nd runner up position among 40 schools from different place of Uttarpradesh & Uttarakhand. Boy’s team reached up to quarterfinals. 20. APS Primary Wing conducted Inter House Prize Distribution on 21st October, 2019 in which our Principal Ma’am gave the medals and trophies to the students. 21. PTM on 21 Oct 2019. PTM was org on 21 Oct 2019. Max parents attend the same. 22. Virasat 23rd Arts & Heritage Festivals. APS Birpur participated in Virasat 23rd Arts & Heritage Festivals for painting competition on 22ndOctober 2019. The topic for the competition was “Gandhi and Heritage”. There were 10-15 schools who participated in the said event. The team comprised of Ayush Negi-8thC, Ayush Kumar-8thC, Palak- 9thA,Kamakshi Gurung-9thA,Shruti Thapa-9th B,khashish-9th D,Shristi-9thD. Ayush Kumar of 8 C bagged second position. 23. Educational trip to the Exhibition held at Asian Schoo On 23 October 2019 eleven students of class XI went to the Asian School to witness their exhibition on the occasion of their 20th Founders day. The exhibition had display for all the academic fields, which helped our students to gain knowledge, excited them about school subjects and helped them gain subject specific content and skills. 24. 25th National Annual Conference Sahodaya School Complexes. The meeting was attended by Principal, APS, Birpur, Dehradun on 23 Oct 2019. 25. National Safety Science Quiz : 2019. The competition was org by Mount Forte School, Dehradun where 34 schools including APS BIRPUR and few more APSs hailing from neighbouring cities participated in the competition. Two participants of APS, Birpur Team, Master Ankush Rawat & Master Lavish of our school stood FIRST and bagged a prize money of Rs 15000/- each. 26. Inter House Folk dance Competition. On 25 Oct 2019 Inter House Folk dance Competition was conducted successfully. All the houses performed different dances showing different cultures of our country. Ms Kavita Sharma, Ms. Mona Rai and Ms. Priyanka Behl were the judges of this competition. 27. Diwali Celebration. APS Primary Wing celebrated Diwali Special Assembly on 30 Oct 2019 in which we lit diyas and candles and the choir sang a song on Diwali. After that our coordinator ma’am Ms. Priyanka Behl gave a speech on why we celebrate Diwali. 28. 20 Girls of APS Birpur attended the session on Self Defence at Birpur Auditorium on 30 Oct 2019 the session was conducted by 116 Bdg Mr Prajapati. .Self-defense is the use of force to protect yourself against someone who is attacking you. 29. Hobby class theme for the month of October on 31 Oct 2019 craft out of toffee wrappers. Students had shown their great efforts and creativity. The materials used were toffee wrappers, A4 sheets, fevicol etc. Children were able to develop their DIY (Do It Yourself) habit by modifying and experimenting with the toffee wrappers. This helped the children to learn recycling and reusing of discarded wrappers. 30. “Interpersonal relation” Special Assembly was conducted on 1st Nov 2019 on the theme “Interpersonal relation”.
