Zach Wilcha already had a coffee meeting (PGN) (although he drank water; he doesn’t like coffee) and a 20-minute phone call with an LGBT business DNC owner by the time he biked to his glass-walled office at the Industrious Workspace on Broad Street on a recent Thursday morning. Independence Business Alliance, the region’s LGBT chamber of commerce, moved to the trendy space in March. According to his former partner, Mark Maybee, Hansen had a blood infection but the exact cause of death is still a mystery. Originally from California, Hansen, 53, was an Air Force veteran who moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1989. He got his start in community involvement by emceeing at charity fundraisers. “He tried to do everything he could for the community. He’d volunteer for anything and everything he could. He volunteered for a lot of things in the community,” Maybee said. Rick Karlin Summer Coolers n a hot summer day, is there anything better than sitting under a patio umbrella and sipping a nice cool cocktail? Well, yes there is, having that Ococktail being served to you by a scantily clad attractive person of the gender of your choice. But, until I can talk my husband into allowing me to hire a houseboy, I’ll have to make and pour my own. Here are a few recipes to make any sweltering day more bearable. Each recipe will provide at least four cocktails, or a small pitcher. Almost all of these can be made into a mocktail by substituting or eliminating the alcohol portion of the recipe. At the end of each recipe, a substitute is suggested.

Simple Syrup ¼ cup Canton ginger liqueur 12 oz. ginger beer Many of these recipes call for simple syrup, which you can find at any liquor store, but Combine lemonade, vodka and ginger it is simple enough to make your own.
