The International and Special Projects Office offers guidance and support to the faculties and staff of regarding all aspects of international commitments, including establishing international, inter institution agreements; creating long-term international partnerships; and welcoming international delegations.

The Office focuses its efforts on three main areas of activity:

• International mobility; • Recruitment of international students; • Integration of international students.

The presence of international students on the Saint Paul University campus enriches the host university as well as local students, thanks to the cultural diversity, institutional reach and opportunities for networking.

Saint Paul University - A renowned institution on a human scale

Founded in 1848, Saint Paul University is federated with the University of and offers an alternative to large Canadian universities. Saint Paul University is a Catholic institution with an ecumenical orientation offering a university education in ’s two official languages: English and French. Its areas of specialization include social communications, counselling, canon law, ethics, conflict studies, group intervention, leadership, philosophy, human sciences, theology, and spirituality. Diplomas from Saint Paul University are awarded jointly with the .

International Educational Agreement with various institutions

Saint Paul University has established educational agreements with different universities around the world. As a host university, Saint Paul welcomes an average of 30 students a year from countries such as Africa, Taiwan, France, Ireland, Belgium, Bogota and the Philippines.

Students from Chang Jung Christian University

1. First contact the international relation office of your university to find out the conditions for applying.

2. You must pay your tuition and general fees to your university before departing for Canada. You are exempted from paying tuition and general fees to Saint Paul University during the study period. However, you are fully responsible for costs related to travel, accommodation, food, and other compulsory campus fees, including a subscription to the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). There is NO exception, even if you have arranged for overseas insurance coverage in your home country.

3. Your documents must be sent by the International Offices of Chang Jung Christian University to the Director of the International and Special Projects Office at Saint Paul University.

4. The Director of the International and Special Projects Office will send your documents to the Registrar’s Office for follow up with the appropriate Faculty for evaluation.

5. Once the application is approved, the Faculty provides a letter of acceptance that is required for study permits, and the International and Special Projects Office prepares welcome letters and an information package.

6. These documents will be sent to the International Offices of Chang Jung Christian University at the end of June 2012 (or at the beginning of November, depending on the study semester(s) stated in the educational agreement).

7. The deadlines for the application are: April 30, for September (Fall session), and can be extended to May 15, if the delay is due to the TOEFL test, or the official transcript or the letter of acceptance. An additional extension can be granted based on circumstances. October 15 is the deadline for application for January (Winter session)

8. The International and Special Projects Office prepares welcome services based on the information provided by the counterpart of the partner university, such as pick-up service, accommodation, student and campus services etc.

. Admission Application . Residence Application (http://www.saintpaulrez.ca/en/index.html) . An official transcript (the most recent) - the transcript must be in French or English or translated into one of these languages. Any translated document must bear the stamp of the International Office of the home institution; . A letter of motivation from the student explaining his/her interest in participating in the exchange program (training objectives during the exchange program); . A letter of recommendation from a professor or from the student's faculty, department, or school; . A language proficiency test, if relevant; . A curriculum vitae (resumé).

All international students must obtain basic insurance through the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). Coverage for one person is $ 684, for two people is $1,752 and three or more people is $2,820 for 12 months.

*Incidental fees are associated with student activities, services and associations. Examples include student federation and association fees, insurance fees and student services fees (Health Services, Sports and University Centre-related fees).
