A copy of the annual financial report, approved by the Board of Trustees, must be filed with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) by the 150th day after the end of the fiscal year. The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) of the Cypress- Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD or the District) is published to fulfill that requirement for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2015. The independent audit of the financial statements is part of a broader, federally mandated “Single Audit” designed to meet the special needs of federal grantor agencies. The standards governing Single Audit engagements require the independent auditor to report not only on the fair presentation of the financial statements, but also on the audited government’s internal controls and compliance with legal requirements, with special emphasis on internal controls and legal requirements involving the administration of federal awards.
