All of the group mail that you would usually get in your personal mailbox may now come to WISD NEWS or the schoolhouse dedicated to the user so the user will have to look in more than one place for your mail.

You may be asking WHY? How does this help? If someone starts work mid year they will get the from the beginning of the year. You can read the information but not be responsible for it. Principals and administrators will post important information in these group conferences. FIRSTCLASS DESKTOP

When a message is sent to a conference there will be a red flag. The red flag means that there is a new message in that conference. The red flag goes away once all the new information has been opened. When you read the message the red flag only goes away for you and not everyone else. FIRSTCLASS ARCHIVE

• FirstClass is tracking and logging everything you do in it. It saves emails, deleted emails and any instant messenger or other chat sessions. Deleted items stay within the FirstClass system for 60 days after the user deleted it before it is purged from the system. It is set up this way in the event that a user deleted a message they didn’t realize they were going to need or want. FIRSTCLASS SECURITY

• If you do not do anything in your account for over 15 minutes your account will logout. It’s setup like this so you will not have anyone (student or coworker) get into your account and email people using your email address. Anything that gets done under your login is your responsibility. Never give someone your login credentials thinking that you are just helping them out. Anything they do would be on you as it is your account. FIRSTCLASS STORAGE

Up at the top of the account you will see a storage space. Each person has a limited amount of storage space. If you run out of room you will stop getting email

Clean up your accounts regularly by deleting emails that are not needed and saving attachments and messages to the W: drive.
