Shubhashish Pathak hails from a renowned music family of Amta (Darbhanga Gharana), located in the Mithila region which has been a seat of knowledge, art and culture from ancient times. Nurtured from childhood under the guidance of the maestro and his (Guru) father Mridangacharya Pandit Ramashish Pathak, years of guidance and rigorous practice have sharpened his skills and stern devotion to music has made him acquire the finer aspects of playing Tabla & Pakhawaj. He has accompanied many renowned maestro like; Pandit Abhay Narayan Maliick, Pandit Ram Kumar Mallick, Pandit Prem Kumar Mallick, Vidushi Madhu Bhat Tailang, Usatad Mohi Bahauddin Dager (Rudra Veena), Pandit Ashok Pathak (Sitar), Pandit Rajendera Gangani (Kathak ), Vidushi Sikha Khare(Kathak) etc.
In his playing skill & tact the clarity of bols, pure pronounciation of words, soulful and clean padhant, rare chand and stuti, rare bandish, ancient parans and paral, resonance and preparations of marvelous relas with veer rasa and shringar rasa and minute intricacies of rhythm are the main characteristics of his Tabla & Pakhawaj playing. He has brilliant command over his father famous Rela and many smaller tunes are really commendable. He has done Masters in percussion Instruments from Punjabi University Patiala (Punjab) and also done Grade in Western music Guitar (Rock & Pop) from Trinity College of London. He is a regular artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. Currently, he is working in the department of music at Government College for Girls, Gurugram (Haryana).
He has brilliant command over various percussion and non-percussion instruments like Naal, Dholak ,Guitar, Punjabi Dhol, Keyboard, Dabruka etc .He has also produced and conducted live Orchestra several times which was consisting of more than 150 students for Amity International School (Ghaziabad) that was appreciated by the audience.
AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENT

He has been awarded ‘Young Artist Scholarship Award’ in the field of Hindustani instruments (Classical music ) by Govt. of India, HRD (Ministry of Culture), New Delhi and got senior scholarship under the training program from Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi. He has received ‘Award of honor’ by Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala. Apart from this he has gained ‘Sangeet Sadhak Samman’ by Navodit Kalakar Samiti, Rajghat, New Delhi ; ‘Yuva Kalakar Samman’ from Padmashree Pt. Siyaram Tiwari Memorial Trust at Hindi Bhawan, Patna. He has acquired ‘Kaka Kalelkar Samman’ for the contribution in the field of Hindustani Classical Music at Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha, Rajghat, New Delhi in 2017.
