Apr 22, Wouter rated it really liked it. Nov 16, Jacques Defraigne rated it liked it. There are some interesting chapters in this book but Rethinking Fundamental Theology reads like an apology for Fundamental Theology and repackages it for the modern age. It takes some concepts of fundamental theology like the personal God, revelation general and specificetc. That means you can get a good grip on some basic understandings of Christian concepts and terminology but also nothing more than that. That's okay if you start thinking, implementing and using those Rethinking Fundamental Theology and terms afterwards in coherent fundamental theological thought. This book doesn't. The title of this Rethinking Fundamental Theology is therefore Rethinking Fundamental Theology and should be: 'An introduction to the basic notions of fundamental theology' This book is somewhat difficult to read because of the writing style of the author. It would not have been my first choice for reading about Fundamental Theology if it had not been required for my seminary course. Unless you have a knack for philosophy and theology, this text will be a challenge.
