DEU: Der Künstler mit der begnadeten Stimme ist wieder da!

Maxi Priest (bürgerlich Max Alfred Elliott) ist einer der bekanntesten Reggaesänger und -songwriter die England je hervorgebracht hat.

Seinem Debütalbum von 1985 folgten erste kleinere, respektable Hits - u.a. die Coverversionen von 'Some Guys Have All The Luck' (Robert Palmer) und 'Wild World' (Cat Stevens) - und Mitte 1990 hatte er mit dem Longplayer 'Bonafide' und der Single 'Close To You' (erreichte Platz 1 in den USA sowie die Top Ten in UK und Deutschland) seinen größten Erfolg. Es folgten Duett-Singles 'Set The Night To Music' (1991) mit Roberta Flack, 'Housecall' (1991) mit Shabba Ranks und 'That Girl' (1996) mit Shaggy die allesamt zu Top 20-Hits wurden. In den Nullerjahren wurde es künstlerisch ruhig um den Sänger, der als eines von neun Kindern jamaikanischer Emigranten wohlhabend geworden war.

Nun erscheint nach einer längeren Schaffenspause das neue Album 'Easy To Love' auf VP Records.
