Each event in the series will include refreshments, an interactive workshop with the author of the featured book, a copy of the book and the opportunity to get the book signed. The book serves as a cautionary tale for communities now struggling to live with lions, wolves, bears and other animals.

Gene Weingarten is a humor columnist for the Washington Post and Gina Barreca is a University of Connecticut professor of feminism and English literature. They did not meet until after the book was published.
