Clair de Lune LOCAL HEROES With nightfall comes moonlight, the earth bathed in strange hues and half-tints. Debussy's Cello Sonata was originally titled 'Pierrot Howls at the Moon' and, along with the mystical Apollinaire Songs of Rosalind Page, it conjures up a fantastical moonlight world full of folkloric hyperactivity and danger. In a more reflective mode, Caerwen Martin's Midnight Loon frames the unassumingly beautiful call of a North American aquatic bird against a hypnotically static night-cap. The award-winning contemporary music group Syzygy Ensemble have, in their short time together, made an impressive impact.
