CSG-WEST Western Legislative Academy

November 13-16, 2013 Springs, Colorado

WLA REGISTRATION is scheduled from 2–5pm on Wednesday, November 13th in Elk Suite #319 at the Resort in Colorado Springs. A shuttle will depart at 5:10pm from the resort to the Penrose House at the El Pomar Foundation’s Retreat Center for the welcoming reception and dinner.

CSG-WEST will pay for the costs of your WLA training in Colorado, except transportation to and from Colorado Springs. You will need to arrange and pay for your own travel to and from your home to Colorado Springs (note - a few, but not many, state legislatures will reimburse WLA travel expenses).

You need to arrive in Colorado Springs by 3pm on November 13 (and arrive no later than 4pm at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort). You may depart anytime Sunday, November 17.

The Colorado Springs is approximately eight miles, a 15-minute drive, from the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. CSG-WEST will provide GROUND TRANSPORTATION from the Colorado Springs airport to and from the Cheyenne Mountain Resort based on the travel itinerary you provide us. We will make arrangements for you to be met by the Cheyenne Mountain Resort’s shuttle service in the baggage claim area of the Colorado Springs airport. In the unlikely event that the resort’s transportation personnel is not in the baggage claim area when you arrive, please call Cheyenne Mountain Resort at 719-538-4020 or 800-428-8886 and ask for the Bell Desk.

For those who choose to drive to Colorado Springs, DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS are provided to the Cheyenne Mountain Resort from the Colorado Springs Airport, and Pueblo. We recommend that you fly in and out of the Colorado Springs airport, but for those flying in/out of Denver International Airport, the Cheyenne Mountain Resort is approximately a ninety minute drive (or more depending on traffic) or an 18-minute flight to Colorado Springs. As a guest of the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, complimentary parking is available at the resort.

Once you are on site, CSG-WEST will provide TRANSPORTATION FOR ALL PROGRAM events. Shuttle service to/from the Penrose House at the El Pomar Foundation’s Retreat Center (our campus) and to all the evening events will be provided by one coach bus. It is imperative that you are on time for departures so that you do not hold up the entire group or get left behind.

CSG-WEST will arrange your HOUSING RESERVATIONS. CSG-WEST covers the cost of hotel room (excluding incidentals) for the nights of Wednesday, November 13 through (and including) Saturday night, November 16, with checkout on Sunday, November 17. Please check in at the front desk when you arrive at the resort (note - HI and AK legislators may receive an additional night of lodging on November 12 if air schedules to Colorado Springs so require).
